- A Madam Secretary spin-off?
Officially, Madam Secretary came to an end with its sixth season. But we think there is more to the story than this. Could a season 7 be likely?
Here’s why Madam Secretary season 7 is likely
Madam Secretary followed McCord through five years serving as the US Secretary of State. Taking inspiration from Hillary Clinton who served as Secretary of State in real life and campaigned to become President, the show also depicts McCord as campaigning for the Presidential elections.

Having worked hard and reached at the top, towards the end of the series, McCord wins the election and becomes President of the United States. So, in a sense, she is a madam secretary no more. But there is no dearth of political drama and intrigue in United States politics. Madam Secretary season 7 could take the story further and focus on the life of Elizabeth McCord as she serves as the first female President.
A Madam Secretary spin-off?
In fact, this is what a lot of people have been wondering. Because there is rich material for a fantastic political drama series that follows the life of the first female President of the United States, fans were hoping that if Madam Secretary season 7 seemed improbable, then the show could have its own spin-off by the name of Madam President.
Currently though, this doesn’t seem likely. At least, official statements considering Madam President haven’t been made yet. The sixth season was a neat tie-up, and a spin-off doesn’t seem to be on the cards at present.
But we live in a culture where cancelled shows are literally picked up at the last moment and then new life is breathed into them. So, all we can say is, you never know!
