The first season of ‘Manhunt: Unabomber’ revolved majorly around the nationwide investigation of the terrorist, Theodore John Kaczynski. Also known as Unabomber, Kaczynski was being hunted down by the FBI. He was responsible for taking the life of three people. Kaczynski was also blamed for injuring around twenty-three people. During 1978 and 1995, Kaczynski was carrying out a bombing mission across the United States of America. The mission aimed to create an industrial revolution. It was mainly done to bring light to the destruction of nature that is the cause of the ever-evolving and dynamic modern technology. The first season also focussed on agent Jim Fitzgerald whose obsession with the man cost him a lot. In those eight episodes, we saw Fitzgerald use forensic linguistics to hunt the Unabomber down.
Its second season, ‘Manhunt: Deadly Games‘, followed one of the most complex manhunts that took place in the United States of America. The second season followed the terrorist bombing that took place during the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. The man behind the horrific event, Eric Rudolph or the Olympic Park Bomber, was known for his strong anti-abortion and anti-gay beliefs. He was later convicted for killing three and injuring more than a hundred people. ‘Manhunt: Deadly Games‘ further showcased the story of the security guard and officer, Richard Jewell. He was falsely accused by the FBI for planting the bombs. Severe scrutinization by the media led him to die at the age of forty-four due to heart failure.
After the success of ‘Manhunt: Unabomber’ and ‘Manhunt: Deadly Games‘, we can expect season 3 to be as fierce as its previous plots.
