Find out if the release date of ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ is confirmed.
It seemed like the story of a group of nerdy, ancient vampires, ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ was put to rest. But the authoritative guys at “FX” had decided to revive the film as a television series. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that the TV adaptation of ‘What We Do in the Shadows‘ maintains all the dry irreverence of its predecessor.

It’s become one of the most critically-beloved comedies on television over the course of just two seasons. Thanks to its clever writing, excellent central performances, and whip-smart sense of humour, the series touches the nip of brilliance.
‘What We Do in the Shadows’ focuses on four vampires — Nandor the Relentless (played by Kayvan Novak), Laszlo Cravensworth (played by Matt Berry), Laszlo’s wife Nadja (played by Natasia Demetriou), and “energy vampire” Colin Robinson (played by Mark Proksch) — and Nandor’s enthusiastic familiar Guillermo de la Cruz (played by Harvey Guillén), all of whom share a house.
Filmed in a mockumentary style like ‘The Office‘, the show has already been renewed for a third season. Season 2 of ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ premiered in June of 2020. Here’s everything we know so far about ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ Season 3.
Latest release date update of ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ Season 3
Fans have been wondering when that third season might premiere after FX officially ordered a third season of ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ in May of 2020. Fans might have to wait a little longer than they typically would due to the continued coronavirus crisis keeping film sets and production shut down.
During San Diego Comic-Con, ComicCon@Home, the cast and crew of the series came together to discuss their upcoming third season. They preferred to remain silent on release dates, but we can glean certain things from context. The show typically films during the winters in Toronto, which would likely mean a mid-2021 release date. This will happen only if the show is allowed to resume filming in Canada.
‘What We Do In The Shadows’ Season 3: Casting updates
Looking at the ComicCon@Home panel, we can expect that the core cast, including Novak, Berry, Demetriou, Proksch, and Guillén, will be returning in the next season.
The vampire council itself was packed with huge guest stars, including Tilda Swinton, Evan Rachel Wood, Danny Trejo, Wesley Snipes (over video chat), Paul Reubens, and Clement and Waititi. When the four main vampires were required to appear in front of the vampire council, during the first season, the setting was a high standard for guest stars.
‘The Sixth Sense’s’ Haley Joel Osment, who hosted the ComicCon@Home panel and Booksmart’s Beanie Feldstein, appeared in the series as supporting players. Comedians like Nick Kroll, Vanessa Bayer, and Craig Robinson have appeared in the show as well.
‘What We Do In The Shadows’ Season 3: Expected plot
Guillermo has recently become an expert vampire hunter after the second season finale. This issue will almost certainly be addressed. Plot details are still up in the air, other than that, not much was revealed during the ComicCon@Home panel.
“We know what’s going to happen, but we’re not gonna tell you”,
Executive producers of ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ Paul Simms and Stefani Robinson said.
“If there’s any preview we can give about season 3, it’s that [the roommates] all have something that they’re searching for”
Simms was quoted as saying during the panel.
