Game of Thrones has its fan following as religious in India as anywhere else. Memorable characters have made a place in the fans’ hearts for years to come. The choice of actors for the show is so accurate it seems no one else could play them. But, let’s not underestimate the pool of talented actors our country has produced. Give them a role and they it so effortlessly as if the character was written exclusively for them. Here’s a list of Indian actors who we believe can play GOT characters with ease.
Vicky Kaushal (Jon Snow)
The Uri actor has proven time and again that he is capable of carrying a story forward on his shoulders. We have no doubt that Vicky can pull off the role of the most famous GOT character.
Tabu (Cersei Lannister)
Not only similarity in looks, Tabu holds a persona of the deranged, vengeful female with perfection as she has done previously in Maqbool. No other could play the Queen better than her.
Alia Bhatt (Danaerys Targaryen)
This kid has come a long way. The Highway actress has played a wide spectrum of roles and is still pursuing challenging characters. Her powerful presence in every scene is a treat to the eyes. But can she play the Dragon Queen? We believe she can as she has screen charisma the character requires.
Richa Chadda (Sansa Stark)
She has given us some of the most celebrated female characters in Bollywood. Be it the suppressed Devi In Masaan or the strong and witty Nagma in Gangs of Wasseypur, Richa has shown that challenging roles are a cakewalk for her. Sansa Stark would be the next perfect role for her.
Irrfan Khan (Jamie Lannister)
Do we need to say more? There’s no shadow of a doubt that Irrfan can play a layered character like Kingslayer with the utmost ease.
Ziara Wasim (Arya Stark)
With just two under her belt Wasim has skyrocketed to fame. Arya Stark is one of those characters which have matured with time. And we believe the Dangal actress would be perfect for the role.
Aditya Roy Kapoor (Theon Greyjoy)
Now just hear us out! Theon Greyjoy is one of the most underrated characters in entire GOT. We went from not caring about him to hating him to feeling sorry for him to finally root for him. And no one but the Aashiqui 2 star has the potential for a character like this.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Ramsay Bolton)
He has already played a sadistic psychopath in Raman Raghav 2.0 so Nawaz would definitely be the best bet for the GOT character.
Paresh Rawal (Lord Varys)
Lord Varys needs an actor who can be collective and conspiring at the same time. Who better than this veteran actor to play the Master of whisperers?
Manoj Bajpai (Peter Baelish)
The conniving, the deceitful, that one backstabbing son of a b**ch we all once rooted for, Littlefinger has been everything but loyal. His dark, deceptive persona matches that of Bajpai. The Bhiku Matre of Bollywood can easily pull off the role of the Master of Coin.
