What unfolded in ‘Tokyo Vice’ Season 1, episode 3?
Shinzo Tozawa, whose liver is on the verge of failing and urgently requires an organ transplant, is ultimately introduced in “Tokyo Vice” Episode 3.
On the other hand, Adelstein pays a visit to Hiroto’s house and begs for a story. Hiroto finally gives him after Tozawa’s gang, hailing from Kansai, invaded Chihara-kai territory with the intent of claiming it. Their actions would inevitably lead to a gang war in Tokyo, which the police had to resolve at all costs. Hiroto assembles a team to apprehend Nakamura and two other members of Tozawa’s gang following their violent effort to disrupt the peace. While on the expedition, he recruits Adelstein to cover the story that will help him advance his career.
Meanwhile, Adelstein meets Hiroto and thanks him for the tip that saved his job, and on the way out, they talk about the mystery loan shark company and its emblem, which got linked to two suspected killings in the city. Hiroto and Adelstein believe a Yakuza gang is behind the loan sharking operation. When Adelstein leaves the residence, Hiroto sends him a file that he acquired from Aoki’s widow, who was going to sue the loan business before he got murdered.
After Sato told Hitoshi that Adelstein might assist them to stop Shinzo Tozawa, Hitoshi Ishida presumably ordered his men to bring him in. Sato had previously viciously attacked and hospitalised one of his gang members. He snitched on Adelstein to save himself when Hitoshi wanted to punish him for his indiscipline. Sato had been keeping a watch on Adelstein and had seen him cover the arrests of Tozawa gang members, which led him to believe that he could help bring Tozawa down without resorting to violence.
It is also possible that Adelstein would obtain proof against Tozawa through Hitoshi, allowing him to cover a story on him that got mentioned at the start of the series. The next few episodes will reveal Adelstein’s role in this brutal gang war.
