‘Money Heist’ Season 4: Recap

Season 4 of ‘Money Heist’ was an emotional rollercoaster for its fans, and dare we say, also a heartbreaking one. The bank-robbing thriller series created by Alex Pina left the audience with a tense cliffhanger at the end of season 4.

By the end of ‘Money Heist’ Season 4, the assault on Bank of Spain is still not complete, while the Professor focused his attention on the rescue of Lisbon (Itziar Ituno) from police’s clutches. The shocking twist was when Alicia betrays the police force and government by exposing all their illegal activities to the press, effectively ending her career and which eventually leads to a warrant for her arrest.

But perhaps, the most jaw-dropping moment was at the end of the episode, when Alicia tracks down the Professor and holds him at gun-point. Is this it for the Professor, then?

Season 5 of ‘Money Heist’: Professor in or out?

Season 5 of ‘Money Heist’ has been renewed by Netflix along with season six. And the questions we currently pose will definitely be answered in late 2021 which is when season 5 of ‘Money Heist’ returns to Netflix.

But the question remains, will the Professor return with it? The thrill of killing off the main character could prove to be exciting for the writers of the show and will allow them to explore new possibilities that come with it. The Professor, with his uncanny ability to predict every possible scenario, limits the show in a way, and with him out of the picture, the show could explore new avenues that it hasn’t yet. So, who and what will season 5 of ‘Money Heist’ be about?

Who we will see in ‘Money Heist’ Season 5?

Well, the first two seasons might have been the shining glory for the Professor, without whom the team of robbers would have not survived this long. But, season 3 and 4 of ‘Money Heist’ saw the spotlight shift from the Professor to its other characters.

And with the Professor held at gunpoint by Alicia Sierra, the team might be left to fend for themselves. Alternatively, the story could very well turn out to be in a way that the Professor not only survives but Sierra also joins the gang. Between jail and a heist … what choice does she really have, anyway? Professor’s fate, Tokyo’s return, Sierra’s choice are all on a standstill till late 2021 which is when ‘Money Heist’ will return on Netflix. Till then, put ‘Bella ciao’ on repeat and dream of happier times.
