What can fans expect from season 4?
Following the massive success of brilliant crime show ‘The Sinner’s’ third season, which debuted in February of this year, the show has been renewed for a fourth season. While the new season is shrouded in a cloud of speculation, the USA Network president Chris McCumber has enticed fans by promising a completely new mystery and a deeper dive into the psyche of Bill Pullman’s character, Detective Harry Ambrose. In an interview with a leading magazine, he said,
“In season 4, we’re excited to dig even deeper into the psyche of Bill Pullman’s beloved Detective Ambrose character, while introducing our audience to a compelling, completely new mystery”.

As of yet, we haven’t been provided with a trailer for season 4, but it is expected to come out rather soon. Fans speculate that the new season will most likely focus on Bill Pullman and his psychological struggles stemming from the events that took place in the third season of the show. More information has not been made public yet because the third season has not finished airing in the United States and the UK, it has only recently been made available to viewers. What is ‘The Sinner’ about?
Derek Simonds’s brilliant mystery drama incorporates a “whydunit” style instead of the cliche “whodunit”, which is seen in most of the crime-themed television series these days. The show also follows an anthological narrative style which basically means that each season of the show revolves around a single case, or story, with Detective Harry Ambrose as the lead protagonist.
In the first season, viewers saw detective Harry Ambrose delve into the past life and psyche of a mentally disturbed woman, named Cora Tanetti (played by Jessica Biel) in order to find out why she murdered her husband by stabbing him multiple times. Initially, the case seems open and shut, but Harry is fixated upon finding a motive behind the crime, much against the advice of his peer Dan Leroy (played by Dohn Norwood).
In the following season, Detective Ambrose returns to his hometown to investigate the bizarre case of a young boy who kills his parents by poisoning them. Harry faces a lot of friction in this case as he uncovers secrets that the town’s inhabitants are hell-bent on protecting at all costs.
The third and the latest season follows Detective Ambrose’s investigation of a gnarly car accident on the outskirts of Dorchester, New York. A case that seems ordinary and routine initially turns out to be Detective Harry Ambrose’s career’s most dangerous case and inflicts major trauma on him.
What will be season 4’s cast?
The show portrays standalone tales in each episode with only Detective Harry Ambrose as the constantly returning lead protagonist. Therefore, there can be no exact speculations regarding the casting of season 4, but rest assured Bill Pullman will be returning to play Harry Ambrose in the next season.
When will season 4 air?
USA Network has not yet issued a confirmed release date for season 4 of ‘The Sinner’. However, fans are speculating that the next season will come out sometime in 2021.
