Netflix’s Money Heist has quickly become a strong contender and is no doubt on it’s way to become a cult-classic show garnering a global audience all over the world. But you don’t become so loved and appreciated by millions of people by following the recipe of being predictable and good.
After releasing to a monstrous positive feedback for Season 4, Money Heist has proved that it is here to stay. And with complex plotlines and unforgettable characters who could want anything else?

But it seems like Season 5 of Money Heist will leave it’s audience feeling very very blue.
And here’s why.
The Fate Of The Professor
One recipe for a very successful TV show is it usually doesn’t follow anything by the assigned rulebook. And if you’re wondering what the rulebook says, the first thing it probably would suggest is to not kill it’s central character holding the rest of the characters together.
The ending for Season 4 was very abrupt as the fans saw a gun pointed at The Professor’s (Alvaro Morte) head leaving us feeling very divided on the fate of The Professor for the upcoming season.
What led to this moment was the team managing to sneak Lisbon (Itziar Ituno) back into the Bank of Spain. However, in the final moments of the episode Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri) tracked the Professor’s hiding placed down.
So, is this it then for The Professor?
Money Heist To Move On Without The Professor?
Season 4 of Money Heist was an emotional rollercoaster for the fans filled with heartbreak and a major death. However, the Bank Of Spain heist is not yet resolved and we are almost certain we will be seeing the show return for at least another two seasons.

But the question remains, will we see The Professor too?
Of course, on one hand there is the element of surprise and thrill of the unknown to explore other possible realities which would make the writers want to kill off a central character. A lot of shows with huge following have done it in the past due to various reasons and still maintained their audience.
Whereas, on the other hand, killing of The Professor can be a challenging thing to do as it would deter the plotline in an awfully major way. The Professor has an uncanny ability to predict the various outcomes when planning a heist and be prepared for them. He has been the backbone, mastermind behind Money Heist in the very first place. Killing him off would knock off the entire foundation of which the show is built on.
And a possible reason why we think Professor will survive this is because Alicia’s options when it comes to her future are pretty bleak. There is jail time waiting for her if she kills the Professor so it does seem like her best option is to join the Professor instead of killing him.
When Should We Expect Our Worry To Go
Usually Netflix waits at least a month to announce it’s plan of continuing the show with more seasons. But there is hardly any doubt there. Money Heist is one of the few releases this year which made Netflix a front-runner in globally dominated content and a pop-culture phenomenon too.
With COVID-19 haltering the productions of TV shows and Movies all over the world, there will be a considerable amount of time till we finally get to see the Professor face death or survive.
But knowing The Professor, doesn’t he already know a gun is going to be pointed at his head? Maybe he already has a plan to get out of it. But until we can be sure, the only thing to do is wait.
