What can we expect from Season 4 of ‘The Good Doctor’?
As of now, no trailer or teaser for the upcoming season of The Good Doctor has been released. The spoilers and rumours making rounds on social media also stand unconfirmed as of yet. However, show creator David Shore has given out many hints as to what fans may expect from the upcoming season in a recent interview with a leading entertainment magazine. He is noted to have said that he has always had Lea and Shaun ending up together by the end of the show’s story. He went on to explain that none of the deaths in the last season were pre-planned but rather those parts were added to the script as they went. When asked if he could tell the fans something about season 4 he said, “I’m excited by the opportunities that we all see set up in this. I’m no genius, I don’t know where these things are going. I’m excited by the opportunities it’s presenting for me and the excitement for the audience, but to a great extent, all that’ll be determined over the next few months, as we sit down in the writers’ room, or sit down in our respective offices, and join each other over the internet, and put some flesh on the bones of these opportunities.”
What has happened in the show so far?
The last season was especially heart-wrenching for fans as they saw the unfortunate death of Dr. Neil Menendez (played by Nicholas Gonzalez), someone who was like a paternal figure and mentor to Dr. Shaun. In the season finale we also saw Lea and Dr. Shaun kiss and declare their affection for each other. Although the two have had chemistry since the first season, Lea had left him to pursue her future and her return has definitely surprised some fans.
When will season 4 of The Good Doctor air?
It should come as no surprise to the show’s fans that filming has been halted due to Coronavirus concerns pretty much all over Canada (where the show is based). However, show creator David Shore has promised viewers that the lockdown has not slowed the writing process. He added that all the show writers are working together on Zoom calls and are ahead of the schedule. The show’s new seasons have routinely come out in September so it stands to reason that the fourth season may also air at around the same time. This time although, fans might have to wait longer than that due to pre-existing conditions.
Who will star in the upcoming season?
Fans saw some of their favorite characters on the show die or leave in the last season. With the unexpected death of Dr. Neil Menendez (played by Nicholas Gonzalez) and actress Jasika Nicole (she plays Dr. Carly Lever), fans were left shocked. Despite that, fans can rely on the other lead cast of the show to return for the upcoming season without fail; some of them being Freddie Highmore (Dr. Shaun Murphy), Antonia Thomas (Dr. Claire Brown), Chuku Modu (Dr. Jared Kalu), Beau Garett (Jessica Preston), Hill Harper (Dr. Marcus Andrews), Paige Spara (Lea Dilallo) and others.
