But, since we can’t get enough of the series, we can’t help but wonder if we will get to see more of it anytime soon? There have been talks about a ‘Bones’ spin-off. Let’s find out if ‘Bones’ is coming back in 2020!
About the show
The series is inspired by the books written by Kathy Reichs who is a forensic anthropologist in real life herself. The main character, Dr Temperance Brennan, and her team works with the FBI and helps solve legal cases by examining the victims’ remains.
Dr Brennan and her team work by examining these remains, alongside special agent Seeley Booth who investigates these cases. Together, they help solve cases and catch the culprit.
The relationship between the characters and their intricate way of solving the cases makes for the major part of the show. A discussion on science and faith often plays a role in the plot.
‘Bones’ Season 13: Will the show be renewed for a new season?
‘Bones’ is Fox’s longest-running TV series that has also been critically-acclaimed. It has earned a loyal fan following that has stayed with the show throughout its 12 long seasons. The makers kept up with the quality and engaging content until the end of it, making it justifiably one of the most popular shows around.

However, when Fox announced that season 12 would be the last one, the fans were disappointed. Even now, there’s no confirmation on there being a new season but, according to some sources, there are chances that we might get to see a ‘Bones’ spin-off in the future. “Entertainment Weekly” had reported this post the end of the series—
“Less than five months after ‘Bones’ went off the air, Fox Chairman and CEO, Dana Walden, admits the long-running crime procedural could still have a future on the network.”

After 12 seasons, the drama starring David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel bid farewell, but with the number of shows that are being revived left and right— we’re looking at you, ‘Will & Grace’ and ‘Roseanne’ — Walden was asked how much time would have to pass before they put the show back on the air.
“I think David Boreanaz would be upset with his new show premiering if I said it was any time soon”, Walden said at the Television Critics Association’s press tour on Tuesday.
“I would anticipate ultimately we would happily do something around ‘Bones’, and that group was so close and the experience was so good for all of them. I can’t say definitively, we’ve had no conversations, it’s just too soon, and they’re all pursuing different things right now.”
Well, ‘Bones’ coming back in 2020 would be the best thing to happen this year. Fans have been eagerly waiting for something as small as a ‘Bones’ Season 13 trailer to confirm the news. May be Netflix could pick up ‘Bones’ Season 13.
Till then, we’ll just have to rewatch all the seasons and a spin-off for now, until a revival, hopefully, happens. What do you think about there being a reboot of ‘Bones’? Let us know in the comments sections below!
Why did Bones get cancelled?
Apparently, the decision to end the show was taken by the network. “It wasn’t our decision”, executive producer Hart Hanson told reporters at the Television Critics Association’s press tour. “We were told it was our last year. It wasn’t that we called the network and said, ‘We’d like to finish now’. I’m not sure anybody is terribly upset or terribly shocked that it would be the last year.”
Is the daughter in Bones her real baby?
While Emily Deschanel and her character Temperance Brennan were pregnant at the same time, it wasn’t her real baby who played the role of the baby on the show. The role of Christine, Booth and Bone’s daughter, was played, at various stages, by Ali and Susanne Hartman, and Sunnie Pelant.
Does the ‘Bones’ cast get along?
The cast of ‘Bones’ does get along well. The two lead actors are reportedly still good friends. Deschanel revealed in a 2019 interview that David Boreanaz was one reason why she has such “fondness” regarding her memories of filming. “We had a great relationship,” said the actress.
