The outlandish premise of the show is what has made its name synonymous with success. With the anticipation for the upcoming season peaking, we thought about discussing the craziest fan theories surrounding ‘The Blacklist’ Season 8!

Elizabeth Keen’s allegiance will change
The series is built on the premise that Red will eventually hand over the entire list of criminals to the FBI … especially the names at the top. Now, that’ll only happen if Red and Elizabeth continue to work together like the FBI wants them to. Unfortunately, her mother Katarina seems to have ulterior motives which will not bode well for Red.
Throughout the recent season, it appears as if Elizabeth is somehow choosing her mother Katarina over him. She bears with Red because the task force needs him and because she needs to know about her past. Her decision to let Katarina remain in her life, even after Red’s warnings, prove there’s going to be an interesting dynamic surrounding the three of them.
Elizabeth doesn’t trust either of them, but Katarina is her mother! If she manages to convince her that Red is the enemy she should be afraid of, things might change for their working relationship. ‘The Blacklist’ Season 8 should explore the changing scenario between them.

Elizabeth Keen is number one on Red’s Blacklist
Since the season 7 finale aired, fans are convinced that none other than Elizabeth Keen is Red’s number one on the list. While Keen isn’t at par with the other blacklisters, there might be hidden secrets we are unaware of.
A “Quora” user believes Elizabeth’s dark past and connection to other names in the blacklist could mean she’s at the top. She doesn’t have the intelligence or manipulative skills like most names on the list do, which conflicts with the belief that she could be a criminal mastermind.
Why else would Raymond Reddington insist on working with Elizabeth? She was just a rookie FBI profiler with no experience in high-profile cases. Some fans have another strange theory, that Elizabeth is Red’s daughter. We wouldn’t rule that out entirely yet, because ‘The Blacklist’ Season 8 should shine a light on that theory.

Katarina Rostova is an impostor!
The rumours surrounding the death of Katarina Rostova made every ‘The Blacklist’ fan believe the character would appear at some point. When it would happen, however, has been a question for a long time. When Reddington met Katarina in Paris, he almost died at her hands, after being kidnapped by her.
The same Katarina Rostova also tried to kill her childhood friend Illya Koslov, and later Dom. It is true that Dom tried to kill Katrina, but he protected Elizabeth for over thirty years. Why would Katarina try to kill someone who stayed by her daughter’s side for so long?
Katarina’s former friends don’t even know who she is and are surprised when she was introduced in the series. So could this mean she’s an imposter like Reddington? And if she really is an impostor, who would want to impersonate a woman that the world wants dead? ‘The Blacklist’ Season 8 will have to explore Elizabeth and Katarina’s relationship in detail and give viewers a glimpse into their past lives.
