Tyler Posey has been longing for a Teen Wolfreboot in the form of a movie, and some cast members think an encore is a good idea. Dylan O’Brien seems focused on his action projects like American Assassin.
Teen Wolf hit small screens on MTV in 2011 and ran for six seasons. Starring Tyler Posey in the titular role of Scott McCall, a young werewolf who saves his town from supernatural creatures, and Dylan O Brian as his best friend Stiles Stilinski, the popular supernatural drama series took young adults by storm. Posey is 28 now and feels that the time is ripe for a reboot. But will O’Brien be a part of the project if it materialises? Here are some details.
- Tyler Posey keen on a Teen Wolf reboot, other cast members too
- Dylan O’Brien concentrates on action projects for now
- Latest updates on a possible Teen Wolf reboot
You are not alone, Tyler wants a reboot too
Tyler Posey took to Twitter on March 26 to pitch his idea for a Teen Wolf reboot.
He said, “Hey @MTV I think it’s time to bring the teen wolf back for new episodes. First Jersey shore family vacation. Now teen wolf high school reunion. I’m ready. And 28 so it’s an appropriate age.”

Posey’s co-stars seemed excited. Cody Christian replied to Posey’s tweet, “So. Down,” while Colton Haynes tweeted, “I’m in!” MTV’s official Twitter handle, however, said, “I wish I possessed this power!!!”

Posey has been requesting a reboot of Teen Wolf for some time now. He has admitted that he often relishes the idea of himself as Scott McCall while watching old episodes.
“It’s nice taking breaks from it, then going back and reminiscing,” Posey had said earlier this year. It is no secret that fans of the popular show think that it ended too soon. They have been pining away for the reunion for a while.
Well, maybe we could get lucky. Most cast members are excited about a second stint if it materialises.
Dylan O’Brien seems busy with his action films
Posey and O’Brien were seen together on the Comic-Con panel in 2018. Posey had revealed in an interview that they are very close. “(Dylan) is still one of my best friends. We went to Comic-Con. It was the first time that we went without obligations because Teen Wolf was over and we didn’t have anything to promote. We partied and danced till five in the morning.”
But, here is the heartbreak. It does look like O’Brien is enjoying his current projects a bit too much. His love for the action genre is clear from the dedication he showed during the filming of The Maze Runner: The Death Cure, where he ended up seriously injuring himself while doing a stunt. The stunt, which involved a train and a couple of trucks, already needed complex coordination. O’Brien was hit by one of the vehicles and reportedly run over. It could have been fatal, but the teen heartthrob survived. The reason: Young bones can take a few hits.
He admitted that he went through psychological hell during recovery, with the producers pressuring him to get back to work sooner than he would have liked to.
Has the incident killed O’Brien’s appetite for action? It has not, because he does seem to enjoy the adrenaline rush. Why? He did act in another action overdose called American Assassin, before finally finishing the shoot for The Maze Runner. It doesn’t end there, because he is filming for another action movie now, quite happy to carry on with his action hero image. Is it because he feels that relying on a stunt double will reflect poorly upon him, or are we missing something here?
So, even if Teen Wolf reboots, what does it mean for the Tyler-Dylan duo? Will we see them together again? Keep watching this space.
We don’t know yet. MTV has announced nothing officially. It does look like MTV has shown interest in Tyler’s idea of a reboot. So, hold on to your horses and pray that it happens. Keep checking our website because in case Teen Wolf is back, we will let you know.
