When I say 221B, Baker Street, does that ring a bell? That’s right Sherlock Holmes!
We have solved the mystery of ‘Sherlock’ Season 5, and while we hate being the bearer of bad news, we really think the chances of season 5 is more unlikely than likely. Let’s explore.
- What’s happening on the renewal front?
- Fans want Benedict Cumberbatch back in & as ‘Sherlock’?
- What the show is about?
Who doesn’t want the most admired British detective of all times, our very own Sherlock Holmes to return? Fans have been waiting for a long time to see the return of ‘Sherlock’ with season 5 in the hopes that the mystery-thriller will get madder and up-the-ante to a whole new level.
Sherlock Holmes, over the ages, has become a household name. The man playing Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch, shot to fame owing to his successful stint as a ‘consulting detective’ in ‘Sherlock’. Yes, that’s precisely how Sherlock likes to be referred to as in the series.
The show, over a period of 4 seasons, has carved its own cult and niche. But will it continue to move beyond the fourth season, onto new beginnings? We are not so sure.
What is happening on the renewal front?
There have been multiple rumours over the years about the renewal of the show. Some suggest that shooting is already underway, while others suggest that filming will wrap up by mid-2020.
However, the lack of any official statement about the renewal and the finality with which the last season ended, makes it seem unlikely that a new season will come. At least, that is how we feel right now about the prospects of renewal.
But fans being fans never give up hope, and we wish them luck as far as the renewal of ‘Sherlock’ Season 5 is concerned.
Fans want to see Benedict Cumberbatch back in & as ‘Sherlock’?
We simply cannot imagine ‘Sherlock’ without Benedict Cumberbatch anymore.
Benedict Cumberbatch currently seems occupied with upcoming MCU film ‘Doctor Strange’. Though even he hasn’t confirmed either the renewal of the show or his return in it as Sherlock Holmes. Alongside him, fans are also hoping for the return of Martin Freeman as Doctor John Watson and other recurring actors like Una Stubbs, Mark Gatiss, Louise Brealey and Andrew Scott.
Only fans can continue to hope against hope, and they have our complete support.
