‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ is a series that investigates the ascent and fall of an abusive police state. With Gilead starting to disintegrate, will the characters begin to see some deadly ramifications for their merciless work and activities in the earlier seasons?
The Handmaid’s Tale has been filling the viewers up with dystopic thoughts and dreams for 3 seasons now. Be that as it may, it is about to enter its season 4 and it will most definitely take a hazier and darker turn than before (guess 2020 affects everything, eh?). ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ is proceeding to develop more and more in popularity – it was reported that the season 2 had double the number of viewers than season 1 – so it should not shock anyone that The Handmaid’s Tale has been revived for a fourth season. The news was announced via the show’s social media channels soon after the season 3 finale aired in the US: “You did this, Resistors. Praise be. Season 4 of the #HandmaidsTale is happening!”

What seems to be the plan for season 4?
Like the previous seasons, it seems like a bunch of new faces are set to join the cast for season 4. Elisabeth Moss stated in an interview, “We have six regulars [characters] in Canada now … we spent the whole season three with June in a new house with Bradley Whitford as Commander Lawrence. Obviously, June’s going to need to find a new fucking place to live. I don’t think she’s going back to that house! It’s an opportunity for a new location, a new world, a new part of the world to show, and new characters”.

Considering she was most recently seen effectively shipping out many youngsters from Gilead and into Canada, shot and harmed all the while, we can likely expect that she would presumably meet some sort of Gilead defenders or family set on monitoring her.
While June is in that world, it’s safe to imagine that we’ll meet new people on the Canadian side, too, with people gearing up for the resistance and helping the children that made it safely across the border.
As for other characters, most of the main characters are set to be back on screen. The main plot is going to take a turn for the dark as the revolution might be coming and it is going to bring a lot of blood and pain to our screens, but it will also change the way Gilead has been seen so far. Excited? So are we!

When will season 4 show up?
In the event that you’ve figured out how to stay confident all through the coronavirus pandemic and are still hoping and trusting that Hulu may come through with a late 2020 delivery, it’s sadly a good idea to abandon that unrealistic reasoning because the streamer confirmed that the show is now slated for a 2021 release.
They made the declaration at a June 2020 presentation but didn’t determine when precisely in 2021 they would release the show.
Elisabeth Moss told “Deadline” that the essayists are wrapping up the season’s writing remotely, yet with everything being questionable at this moment, it’s difficult to state when exactly the direction and production are going to continue. Once it does, however, it sounds like they still have just about the entire season to shoot. So when you consider that, as well as post-production, it seems like the earliest in 2021 we can return to Gilead is spring.
