As told in an interview, Tim Minear feels fortunate to be able to finish filming the upcoming season before the shutdown. He also expresses how efficient the work has been, specifically editing 9-1-1 and its spin-off show, remotely. What does that say about the American horror story on 9-1-1? Read on to know more.
What went down in the season 3 finale?
Starring Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, and Aisha Hinds among many others, 9-1-1 follows the lives and careers of Los Angeles first responders: police officers, paramedics, firefighters, and dispatchers. While attempting to save those who are at their most vulnerable, these emergency responders also try to balance the act with solving problems in their own lives.
The 18-part third installment had over 10 million viewers throughout its run. The audience witnessed some unforeseen twists and turns that led to a great cliffhanger, leaving fans wanting more. In the final episode, station 118 attempts to save the passengers, including Abby, Sam and a drummer who are aboard on the doomed train.
Meanwhile, Eddie forces himself to get comfortable with the Christopher wanting to go away to sleep-away camp, and Michael receives some major good news and a date with his new elevator friend. Hen is supported by her family through her MCAT prep, Athena unwillingly shares her recent trauma with a victims advocate, and Maddie finally informs Chimney that she is pregnant.
The American Horror Story the audience would love to see
Tim Minear confirmed that he wouldn’t want to ignore the inevitable coronavirus storyline but then again, he would rather not have the show become about it. “What you’ll find when we come back is what our characters will have been through and what our audience has been through. They will have been through this period of quarantine,” Minear told TV Insider.
A possible American Horror Story could be where, since Maddie’s pregnant with her baby, she would have to be careful to not catch the virus, and considering that Chimney is likely to answer calls, that could put him at risk. This means the audience will see some changes in their day-to-day lives.
Meanwhile, Hen, who was looking forward to her future in medical school, might change her mind about her career path and could continue responding to calls with the 118. Elsewhere, Athena will be seen making a decision about continuing with her job amid the pandemic.
Athena’s ex-husband Michael finds romance with a doctor he met in the elevator. The possibility of this new relationship working out will be put to the test through the quarantine caused by the deadly virus.
When will 9-1-1 season 4 release?
Upon hearing about the news of a fourth installment release, fans are beyond ecstatic. Furthermore, the coronavirus amalgamation could be an interesting take. But when exactly will season 4 release?
While it would be fun to binge-watch the show with everyone quarantined, no one has announced a release date yet. There is speculation that the new installment will release in late 2020 or early 2021.
