Ragnar Lothbrok will be back from the dead in Vikings season 6 part 2. Fans are excited as the release date is finally here
Created and written by Michael Hirst, Vikings initially followed the journeys of Ragnar Lothbrok and his Vikings brothers. Focus gradually moved towards Ragnar’s sons Bjorn and Ivar making them the lead protagonists.
Season 4 was quite intense as some fans lost one of their favourite characters in the series. Ragnar met his fate in the episode “All His Angels”, where he was thrown into a pile of snakes by King Aelle. As a result, he died of venomous bites.

But did he really die or was his death just another catastrophe meant to make the audience believe that there’s more in store in the season finale? Read on to know more!
All Hail The (new) King!
After Ragnar’s death, fans were made to believe that he had really died as focus shifted from him as the lead protagonist, to his sons Björn Ironside, Ubbe and Ivar the Boneless who continued to invade England and build their kingdom in Scandinavia. Halfway through season 6, Björn and Ivar are once again at war
After weeks of preparation, Bjorn confronted the might of the Rus people. Unfortunately for him, the Rus army had Ivar at their side. How annoying was that!! With Ivar on their team, the Rus were able to identify the perfect place to attack.
As Bjorn was fought diligently throughout the vicious battle, in an unexpected turn of events he received a blade straight through the chest which was wielded by his brother.
As fans continue to create theories on whether Björn is really dead or not, the cliff hanger has left fans eagerly waiting for the second part.
“Bjorn is not dead, 100%. The next episode will most likely be the last Bjorn episode and they will give his story arch the end he deserves. In the promo for 6×11 we can hear Hvitserk say ‘I told you Ivar, you can’t kill him’ and we see a shot of someone wielding the sword of kings. That someone is obviously Bjorn…” commented @aLotOfWater on Reddit.
Proof that Ragnar will be back:
One of the posters for Season 6 features Ivar being crowned the King. Fans have pointed out an interesting fact which could prove Ragnar’s return from the dead.
In season 4, King Aelle threw Ragnar into a pile of snakes, with shackles around his wrists. In contrast, the poster displays an image of Ivar being crowned and the hands placing the crow have shackles around them.
This observation has made fans to believe that Ragnar would either be back for real or make his presence in a dream or flashback.
Season 6 part 2 release date
The final season finished filming long before the Coronavirus became a deadly pandemic and caused all productions to temporarily halt until it was safe enough to work. If online reports are to be believed, the awaited 10 episodes will be released in November, this year. But why wait so long?
While most of the world is in quarantine, people are spending a lot of their time watching their favourite movies and shows. Yes, it would create more room for anticipation for the next 10 episodes of the show, but in times like these, it does not make complete sense to make fans wait this long.
Hopefully, our prayers and wishes will be answered and the showrunners will decide to release the second part of season 6 soon. Do you think Björn will survive and Ragnar will come back from the dead? Let us know in the comment section below!
