Following a dramatic finale which ended on a cliffhanger in the fifth season of the hit BBC show, fans are more than disappointed to know that their favourite show will not be coming back any sooner.

The sixth episode of the fifth season of Peaky Blinders was titled ‘Mr Jones’. The finale episode witnessed Tommy Shelby (played by actor Cillian Murphy) square up against Sir Oswald Mosley (played by Sam Claflin). That’s when the fans favourite character and the protagonist of the show Shelby places a gun against his forehead and the screen cuts to black.

The official twitter account of Peaky Blinders released a statement on 17th March 2020 which confirmed a delay in the series. It also stated that the team is taking the necessary precautions required amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The circular read, “After much consideration and in light of the developing situation concerning Covid-19, the start of production of Peaky Blinders Series 6 has been postponed. Huge thanks to our incredible cast and crew, and to all our amazing fans for their continued support.”

Peaky Blinders fans ‘devastated’
Furious fans of Peaky Blinders left no stone unturned to criticize the move. They took to twitter and tweeted as many mean things as possible. One user tweeted saying, “This is worse than anything. I’m officially done with 2020.” Meanwhile another tweeted saying, “This is the most frustrating thing.”
While there were some fans who couldn’t understand the gravity of the situation, there were others who welcomed the move.
