Each of these superhero avatars has very polarising characteristics and the equally polarising backdrop of the story. Thus, let’s have a detailed look at Red Guardian, Jim Hopper, and Hellboy to decide which one to choose from.
David Harbour as Red Guardian in MCU’s Black Widow
As we saw that Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson, died in Avengers Endgame, thus we know that the movie will be taking place earlier in the timeline. David Harbour plays Red Guardian in Black Window.

Though as per comics, Red Guardian was created as the Russian equivalent of Captain America, here from the trailer of Black Widow we get to see that he’s the father or a guardian to Natasha. Currently, his relation to Black Widow is not certainly known, but what we know for sure is that they’ll be fighting together as a family.
Watching David Harbour cracking some jokes in a Russian accent, kicking some asses in the red suit, and falling on his fat belly in the movie will be a treat.
Jim Hopper played by David Harbour in Stranger Things
Everyone loves Jim Hopper. His killer smile and his undying spirit have made him the most adorable Chief of police ever. Stranger Things is the show full of strange things. There’s a monster, Mind Flayer, who feeds and hosts on Humans, Rats and Demogorgon. And then there is a teenager girl named Eleven, who has superpowers. She, with the help of Hopper and other kids, is fighting against the monster.
The nature of the show and the creativity behind it has made it a sensation on Netflix. Though Jim Hopper has no superpower in this show, the sacrifices he has made put him above all the ones we know and have superpowers. Also, Jim Hopper died in the Season 3 of Stranger Things, but the latest teaser from the Season 4 shows us that he’s back from the dead, no superpower can achieve that.
David Harbour in Hellboy avatar
Hellboy is a 2019 American Superhero film based on the Dark Horse Comics character of the same name. It is a reboot of the Hellboy film series and the third live-action in the franchise. In the film, Hellboy struggles with his existential crisis while preventing a resurrected sorcerous from conquering the world. In the movie, David Harbour played an extensively built, red-skinned superhero.

Though he looked undoubtedly a monster as per the character’s need, the actor surprised everyone with his performance under the heavy CGI based skin.

Though every role played by David Harbour is fantastic and wow-worthy in their way. But if one has to choose between Red Guardian, Jim Hopper and Hellboy, the best one is undoubtedly our boy Jim Hopper.
