Narcos Mexico Season 2 will return to the streaming giant Netflix in 2020. Aided by the upcoming War between the DEA and the Drug Lords, the latest installment is going to be bigger and better than ever.
Jose Maria Yazpik, who plays Amado Carrillo Fuentes, has confirmed the return of Narcos Mexico Season 2. Jose posted a photo on Instagram, on which a fan commented and asked – “Aun no hay fecha de Narcos Mexico 2?”. English translation of which means – Is there a date for Narcos: Mexico 2?
Jose replied to the fan – “Febrero” which means February. Though Netflix has not confirmed yet, however, it seems that one of the stars of the show already knows the release date.
Jose Yazpik’s character Amado Fuentes was known in real life as El Señor de Los Cielos – which means The Lord of the Skies. He was so-called due to a large fleet of his jets which he used to transport drugs.
Narcos Mexico season 1 focused on the drug trade in Colombia, while the American Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) attempts to dismantle the narcotics trade. In Latin America, the drug trade was mostly led by ill-famed cartel leader Pablo Escobar.
Netflix confirmed that a second season would be going ahead in the last December. They made the announcement via a tweet.

Narcos Mexico Season 2 Story
The voice-over from DEA agent Walt Breslin said, in Narcos: Mexico said, “What happened in Guadalajara in the early ’80s was the beginning”.
It further said that “What happened in Guadalajara gave birth to the first cartel. From that, others would follow. And the violence and money and drugs, they just f***ing explode. It changed the DEA, too. Maybe it woke us up, I don’t know. But it’s where the first shot was fired, the one that started the drug war. And after that, none of it would be the same. How could it be?”

The finale ends with him saying – “We knew we were in a war. Now, it was our turn. Pretty soon, they were gonna know, they were in one too”.
Narcos Mexico Season 2 will witness more and better action, probably a war between DEA and the drug cartels. Whatever happens in the plot but one thing is for sure – it would be highly entertaining.
Will Ovidio Guzman Lopez appear in Narcos Mexico season 2?
Ovidio ‘The Mouse’ Guzman’s inclusion in Narcos Mexico season 2 seems highly unlikely. The second installment of the series will be set in the 1980s and early 1990s when Ovidio would have been a young boy.

The 28-year-old is one of four sons from his father’s second marriage to Griselda López Pérez. In the current scenario, Ovidio is thought to be the leader of the Sinaloa cartel alongside his older brother Ivan. Camarena was tortured and killed in 1985 by members of the Guadalajara drug cartel upon the revelation that he had infiltrated their operation.
The new series is expected to see the rise of Sinaloa Cartel which was established in the late 1980s, following the demise of Guadalajara drug carte.
