‘Money Heist’ master thief, Berlin, who was killed off in season 2 of the show is apparently not dead at all. Theories suggest that the man could be alive and may make a comeback in season 5.
When you’re a globally-renowned series on Netflix, chances are you will never be left alone. Fans of the crime-drama series ‘Money Heist’ are always looking for a way to estimate what the upcoming season of the show could show.
- Berlin: The man he was
- Berlin: A man with many problems
- Will Berlin make a comeback in ‘Money Heist’ Season 5?
The latest theory suggests that Berlin (Pedro Alonso), who was gunned down by the police at the end of season 2 and killed, could be alive after all.
Is there any truth to this rumour? And what else should fans expect from season 5 of the hit series? Let’s find out?
Berlin: The man he was
Berlin was a complicated man, a misogynist, and a probable psychopath, but one of his other sides also made him a treat to watch on screen. He was also charismatic, when he needed to be, with his own set of values, which made him a fan-favourite.
In the recently released documentary, ‘Money Heist: The Phenomenon’, show-runner Alex Pina gave many insights on how the show became what it did. He also said that he regrets killing off Berlin and only did so because he was told to by the higher-ups. The character’s stint of sexual abuse with one of the hostages and his bigotry was not welcome with the times.
But Berlin did come back. The character made appearances in season 3 and 4 in the form of flashbacks when he was planning the money heist. But his death at the end of season 2 left open a door for bringing him back one day, which might be what Pina’s intentions were.
So, what’s cooking?
Berlin: A man with many problems
Berlin, who was also revealed to be the Professor’s brother, was suffering from a rare genetic disorder called Helmer’s myopathy that would have killed him within a few months of the heist. In ‘Money Heist’ Season 3, which takes place two and a half years after the events of season 2, there are two major challenges which make this theory harder to be true.
On the one hand, Berlin was only taking drugs to manage his symptoms, but people who have Hemlmer’s myopathy can survive with the right treatment. And, even if he found a way to survive with his disease, the police gunfire that he ran into would have ended his life.
So, with all odds against Berlin’s comeback, what are the clues hinting at his comeback? And with other characters who didn’t live to see the light of the day, what is it about Berlin that has the fans convinced that maybe there is more?
Will Berlin make a comeback in ‘Money Heist’ Season 5?
Unlike Oslo and Moscow, who both died in season 2, Berlin’s body was never revealed. The theory suggests that Colonel Prieto, who captured and tortured Rio (while also illegally arresting him), could be harbouring Berlin illegally.
Berlin was hit several times in the torso by the police following which he collapsed. He could have faced a similar fate as Rio. Prieto would do anything to keep Berlin alive and try to get information about the Professor’s plans, especially after the robbers escape.
Another popular theory doing the rounds on the internet is that Berlin escaped to the love of his life. He made it clear just how in love with Tatiana he was and could be hiding out with her.
Even if Berlin doesn’t make a comeback, we still have flashbacks to look forward to in the upcoming season 5.
