What is the plotline of ‘Minx’?
‘Minx’ is an American comedy-drama television series starring Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson that was helmed and produced by Ellen Rapoport. On March 17, 2022, the show released its first episode on HBO Max.
The story revolves around a young feminist from Los Angeles who teams up with a low-rent publisher to launch the first women’s erotica magazine in the 1970s.
Joyce Prigger (Ophelia Lovibond) is the show’s main character, an ambitious editor who is unsuccessfully shopping around a radical women’s liberation magazine. Doug Renetti (Jake Johnson) is a wheeler-dealer publisher of sexual periodicals. Doug sees a profitable untapped market in the decade’s swelling tide of free women, and in Joyce, he finds a reluctant business partner.
Minx then became the first sexy magazine for the female gaze, with progressive articles about birth control and housework wages sandwiched between vibrator advertisements and splashy centrefolds of naked firemen in its glossy pages.
Is ‘Minx’ returning for season 2?
As of now, there is no official confirmation from HBO Max about whether or not ‘Minx’ will be returning for season 2. However, keeping in mind the popularity of the show, we might expect the show to return to our TV screens.
