‘Schitt’s Creek’ fans have decided that Stevie deserved David more than anyone else. Here’s why they think season 7 is a must for the show
Fans feel that David’s relationship with Patrick was just an inclusive card played by ‘Schitt’s Creek’. They feel Stevie was the one for him. And they have solid reasons for saying so.
Highlights —
- Stevie fell in love with David when he was at his lowest
- Stevie is able to stand up to David unlike Patrick
- David ending up with Stevie would not have stereotyped the ‘gay’ way like the show did
Stevie fell in love with David when he was at his lowest
Remember David when he first rolled into the Rosebud Motel on ‘Schitt’s Creek’? Throughout the series, he’s become a better person than he was earlier – more honest, more sensitive, more caring. Moreover, more capable. But, initially, David was just a helpless boy and even then Stevie fell in love with him. Patrick came into David’s life way later, when he’s running his own successful business.
David and Stevie have lots in common
Stevie and David are more similar than David and Patrick and there’s no denying this. Their general lack of enthusiasm for … well, pretty much anyone, their sense of humour, and so much more. That is why they bonded over their hatred for other people. Moreover, both have a similar sarcastic tone. David and Stevie are simply soul-mates and are made for each other. Though these may not be good traits to hold, their similarities make them such a great couple on ‘Schitt’s Creek’.

Stevie is able to stand up to David unlike Patrick
There’s no denying that Patrick can be a little bit of a pushover when it comes to David. Throughout the series, only once or twice has he stood his ground. Most of the times, David’s powerful personality has overshadowed him on ‘Schitt’s Creek’. That’s not the case with Stevie. She is just as blunt and stubborn as David can be. If they were partners, she would easily be able to stand up to him.
David ending up with Stevie would not have stereotyped the ‘gay’ way like the show did
David ended up with Patrick in the series, but it’s important to note that he is pansexual! His speech on ‘Schitt’s Creek’ is one of the most liked speeches on TV. He aptly said, “I like the wine and not the label”, in a truly brilliant way. But the show ended this man’s story in a somewhat stereotypically ‘gay’ way. He could have ended up (happily) with a woman. It would have been a great way to steer away from the unfortunate stigma that pan men are “experimenting” before settling down with a man.
Fans angry with the cancellation of ‘Schitt’s Creek’, demand season 7
The series has continued to grow in popularity, even after it has ended. It was a wholesome Canadian comedy that swept the Emmys by winning a whopping nine awards. With this great performance, ‘Schitt’s Creek’ set the record for the most awards in a single season for a comedy series. The show has also topped the Nielsen ratings. But fans hadn’t had enough, even though the series is available to stream on Netflix. Dan Levy, the star and co-creator, who plays David on the show, has even said that there could be a movie in the future. Fans want ‘Schitt’s Creek’ Season 7 so that they can see David and Stevie ending up with one another.
Both, ‘Schitt’s Creek’ renewal for season 7 and David falling in love with Stevie is a far-fetched dream currently. If something changes, we will be first to inform you. Stay tuned!
