Departing from the comic’s story, Alpha on The Walking Dead season 10 died quite later. But this is not the last time Angela Kang (showrunner) is defying the comics. Sources reveal that Duffer Bro’s “Hopper Alive”-tease trick has inspired Kang to bring in the major twist that Alpha is Undead and plotting revenge on Negan. TWD season 10 episode 12: Negan’s betrayal that left Alpha shell-shocked
We already had seen the two major characters (Gamma and Earl) die in the course of 12th episode of season 10 of The Walking Dead, but the episode titled- The Walk with us- saved the most surprising death sequence of Alpha for the last.
Negan lures Alpha to a shed by revealing that Lydia (her daughter) is with him. Dissuaded by Negan’s story of his love for his wife, Alpha decides to kill Lydia thinking that the act will free herself from her only weakness (motherhood). But as she opens the door, Lydia is nowhere to be seen.
As confused Alpha turns back, Negan shocks her by slitting her throat. Catching the shell-shocked Alpha, he gives her the last kiss (apparently, though!) and gently bends her to the ground bleeding her to death. We saw the lethal Negan taking the zombified head of Alpha to Carol revealing that they two were plotting to get her killed.

But just like the tease of Hopper being alive and laying railway track in Russia on Stranger Things, Alpha is also undead and will be hiding somewhere only to unleash deadly wrath on Carol and Negan.

Since there is no hard and fast rule to follow the comic’s series and death track of a popular character on TV is usually a gimmick to pull in the audience. According to reports from various web sources, Angela Kang will defy the comics one more time and tweak the story to build The Walking Dead plot even more surprising.
