The Office US’ iconic couple, Jim and Pam are surreal. Their story brings perfect love to life, despite difficulties they face through the story.
The fantastic couple from the popular Tv series, The Office (US) has been through tough times and they’ve cruised through life that they share together in a happy trance. Dunder Mifflin paper company’s favourite, Jim and Pam are fan favourites too (the writer of this post included).
“I feel god in this Chillis tonight.” – Pam, the night when Jim kisses her, the Dundies Awards episode (Season-1).
Jim and Pam show us that a couple deeply involved in each other can keep their individual self and still be a loving partner. The Dunder Mifflin chronicles that revolve around The Office employees selling different kinds of paper to different clients.
When we saw the first time Jim was flirting with Pam, most of us felt the pain that Jim’s eyes so surely show. The deep sorrow and the realisation of a love story which took 4 seasons to come to fruition, Jim and Pam are the absolute best.
It all begins with the pranks on Dwight:
The planning that brought together Jim and Pam, first as friends, later as a couple usually goes about pulling Booby traps on Assistant to The Regional Manager, Dwight.
The Roy problem
The fact that Roy was engaged to Pam before she started dating Jim may come across as a mind-boggling thing for many. Roy helped Jim and Pam come together in a way that lasts lifetimes. They came to understand each other like best friends.
When they finally hit the right time to date
Jim and Pam never really hit it off until after Jim stopped dating Karen and asked the love of his life out on a date.
Sure, Jim confessed his love to her before he left for the Stanford Branch (which introduced Andrew Bernard aka Nard Dog). But that was a sad moment rather than a happy beginning to their relationship.
The love life of the couple
Jim and Pam are iconic because of the struggles they faced together. They faced separation when Pam wanted to attend art school. But the separation only made their love grow stronger. As Jim grew more and more sure of their relationship, he went off to do the most romantic things.
The first of these was buying a house where he could live with Pam. The same house where he grew up.
He planned an entire evening on Toby’s farewell party so he could propose to Pam but that did not pan out for Jim. So, he drove through rain, met Pam halfway between Scranton and New York and proposed to marry Pam to be his forever wife.
The obstacles in the story of Jim and Pam
While the couple always tries to be optimistic, sharing the bond of trust can prove difficult. This affects Jim and Pam in many ways. They are the most loyal couple that you may ever come across.
This is proved when Jim shared his room with Cathy trying to seduce him. The Office trip proved useful for Jim in building a stronger bond with his co-worker/Best-friend, Dwight. Jim calls Dwight to fix a bedbug problem (which didn’t really exist) but Dwight falls back because Dwight was trying to get laid.
The puzzling montage ends with Jim and Dwight in the same room; Dwight ditches his one nightstand.
Jim successfully and quite effortlessly resisted the charming seduction of Cathy. This did not move Jim.
In season 9 of The Office US, we see the couple coming through the struggle of being apart and having two kids. Jim decides to be a part of Athleap, the startup idea he had in college; this idea took off but Jim and Pam were separated for long periods of time.
Immense emotions kick in when Jim decides that his life with Pam, her in Scranton is more important than his project. Best seen when he was offered to tour the US but chose Pam and Scranton.
The love that Jim and Pam share is exceptionally rare and we hope that everybody finds something similar, if not the same.
