The number one reason that makes the show a towering hit is its unpredictable plot. The makers of the show make sure that at every 20-minute the fans are given something exciting to rejoice at. Into ‘You’: About the series (in-depth)
The story of You is about Joe, an exceedingly charming 33-year-old man with extreme psychological tendencies. The show has scored up the viewers’ chart because of its protagonist played by actor Penn Badgely. Now, anybody who is familiar with the American teen drama Gossip Girls may not be unfamiliar with his face.

Penn as Joe Goldberg essays the role of a serious stalker-cum-intense lover. His obsession with his partner escalates to bizarre levels. And, that’s exactly what you will come to know after you watch the show. Also, I’m refraining myself from giving you guys any sort of spoilers. However, graded as a serious thriller drama, the show comes with violence and trigger warnings. Clearly, the show is not for the faint-hearted and the weak.
The show’s premise in less than 100 words
If you ask me, I can tell you the show primarily chronicles the story of a sociopath named Joe. And let’s be honest ladies, every woman appreciates a man who is slightly obsessed and a borderline-crack for her. But this story shows the dark and downside to impulsive and intense love.
What is there in Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgely) that won’t appeal to any right-minded woman? To be honest, he is an exaggerated version of Christian Grey from Fifty Shades of Grey. The man is fierce, intense and dashing.

What makes Joe go from a guy from-next-door to a sociopath?
Distinctively, Joe stands poles apart from Christian Grey in terms of his kink and display of affection. While Grey opts for quirky ways of expressing his love (BDSM), Joe believes in murdering his lover.
Yes, that’s the endgame for every girl Joe fixates his eyes at.
It begins from crazy stalking, graduates to finding peaky ways of entering their lives and then eventually leads to a planned and systematic killing of his girlfriends.
Hence, in this manner, Joe Goldberg defines the ‘psycho’ in this psychological thriller You available for streaming on Netflix.

Now, will his past come to haunt him back or will he turn himself in to redeem the guilt of his past acts? Or, is he preying on his third victim in You Season 3? We will come to know in You Season 3 on Netflix.
Interestingly, You Season 2 final scenes ended on Joe peeping through a hole at his neighbhour’s garden. But there was something peculiar about it that caught the fans attention and spewed a thread of fan theory.
The closing scene of a ‘woman’s hand’ holding a book leads fans to believe that Joe’s next victim is already on the map. But many speculate that Goldberg’s new neighbhour in Season 2 might be his mother that Joe spies through the fence.
