Plot of ‘Truth Seekers’
‘Truth Seekers’ features Nick Frost as Gus Roberts, who is a broadband installer. He is mostly interested in paranormal activities around which he runs a Youtube channel called ‘Truth Seekers’. Simon Pegg plays the role of Gus’ boss, Dave. He asks Gus to train a new assistant, Elton John (Samson Kayo). Gus introduces Elton to spooky things like a possessed family pet to a fake haunted hotel that has the ghost of a soldier in an abandoned World War II radio transmitter. During their investigations, they come across Astrid (Emma D’Arcy) and Jojo74 (Kelly Macdonald).

Gus gathers the courage to go to the Coventry Collectors and Cosplay Convention. But his father-in-law Richard gets in. The guest speaker at the convention is paranormal conspiracy theorist Dr. Peter Toynbee (Julian Barratt), who uses his speech to implant mind-controlling nanobots into the eyes of the audience. He plans to collect a group of followers who will help him move to Eternis during the coming eclipse, which, as per him, will make him immortal. With the help of Richard, Helen, Astrid, and Dave, they ruin Toynbee’s plan to be immortal and rescue Richard too, but loose Astrid in the process.
In the last few moments, we get to know that Dave and Jojo74 know each other and are not from this planet. There also might be more to Astrid’s’ character on ‘Truth Seekers’. So, keeping in mind the cliffhanger ending, fans might expect the announcement for season 2 of ‘Truth Seekers’ soon.
