A prequel and spin-off to Vince Gilligan’s American drama series ‘Breaking Bad’, ‘Better Call Saul’ has been renewed for one last season. Here’s when the shooting for this last season will begin.
The show revolves around the events in Saul Goodman’s (the crooked lawyer from ‘Breaking Bad’) life before he gets involved in Walter White’s drug business. ‘Better Call Saul’ hit the screens in February 2015 and has since released a total of 5 seasons over the course of more than 5 years. The sixth season will be the show’s final one and is said to be comprised of 13 episodes. It is scheduled to release this year.

- What are the fans expecting from the sixth and final season?
The show has come a long way from when it started in 2015. The show creator Peter Gould quoted in an interview:
“From day one of Better Call Saul, my dream was to tell the complete story of our complicated and compromised hero, Jimmy McGill.”
With Peter’s dream being almost at the stage of completion, let us take a look at what we can expect from ‘Better Call Saul’ Season 6!
The premise of ‘Better Call Saul’
At the centre stage of the show’s story is the gradual transformation of James “Slippin’ Jimmy” McGill from a con artist to the crooked criminal lawyer we all know and loved in ‘Breaking Bad’. James decides to leave his unethical lifestyle as a con-man and dedicates himself to becoming a respectable lawyer like his older brother Chuck McGill.
He works for years at Chuck’s firm as a lowly clerk in the firm’s mailroom while getting his law degree from an overseas college and passing the bar exam at the same time. It was during this time that he also met his love interest Kim Wexler who was also doing the same job as him but eventually managed to become an associate at the firm, unlike James.
What has happened on the show so far?
Matching ‘Breaking Bad’ quality-wise is a tall order, however, the creators of ‘Better Call Saul’ have tried their utmost to keep things consistent between the original show and the spin-off as much as they could. A number of things have happened in the past 5 seasons that are expected to be resolved in the coming final season. Chuck, Saul’s older brother, has died and Saul is left with only Kim as his support.

Gus Fring struggles to keep his business legitimate after the disruptive arrival of Lalo Salamanca in Albuquerque. Mike Ehrmantrout is struggling to come to terms with the way he avenged his son’s murder and with being sandwiched between the cartel’s conflicts.
What are the fans expecting from the sixth and final season?
Off the top of the list, fans want to know why Kim Wexler is not seen in ‘Breaking Bad’ given her importance as Saul’s partner in crime as well as her being his wife. Does something happen to her? Or do they go on their separate ways peacefully?
The second most important question is how will Gus Fring consolidate his power and get Lalo Salamanca out of his way? And how did Mike Ehrmantraout end up partnering with Gus? Let’s hope the sixth season can answer these burning questions!
