Why HBO have an interest in Person of Interest?
Person of Interest premiered in 2011 on CBS and ran for 5 seasons.
It starred Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson leading a team that used “The Machine”, an extremely advanced surveillance program, to prevent crimes by predicting the patterns of human actions to make a better world. As the plot grew richer with the Seasons, a new A.I. machine “Samaritan” entered the story to rival “The Machine”.

Both the machines had a certain amount of intelligence of themselves, and both knew everything and could see everything. Even though both the machines worked in the same way, those who used them had repulsive objectives leading to destruction.
How close the Westworld Season 3 came to Person of Interest?
Westworld Season 1 and 2 took place strictly in the show’s west-themed amusement park. Where, the android hosts, who were meant to serve the visitors, eventually develops some intelligent traits and turns against humans.
However, in Season 3, Westworld moved out of the marked area of the park and the story started wandering in the outside world.
For the first two seasons, Westworld mainly established the conflict between the human psyche and A.I., and it raised the question about who’s right and who’s wrong.
As the action started in the outside world, we found that the lead android host “Dolores” has a plan to use an extremely advanced A.I. machine named “Rehoboam “ to make the world a better place. And with the introduction of Rehoboam, HBO’s Westworld has established the possibility of a crossover with Person of Interest due to an extremely similar approach and almost identical subject.
Any possible difference between Westworld and Person of Interest gets bridged when we find out the functions of Rehoboam. Rehoboam, the A.I. machine, is designed to predict and decide a path for every human being. Every human is supposed to follow the path decided for them by Rehoboam to make a better world.
That definitely sounds exactly like Person of Interest, and there’s a reason for it.
Another reason why HBO’s Westworld can crossover with Person of Interest.
Other than the almost identical approach and subject of HBO’s Westworld and CBS’ Person of Interest, there’s one more reason for a possible Crossover. Both, Westworld and Person of Interest, shares Jonathan Nolan as the creator. This fact concretes all the possibilities of a crossover between both the shows.
HBO’s Westworld stars Aaron Paul, Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, Luke Hemsworth, etcetera. And is preparing for Season 4 of the show.
