When Meredith Grey played by Ellen Pompeo made an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Cordon, the actress avoided questions about Season 17 of Grey’s Anatomy being the last, which isn’t great news for the audiences.
“The fans are never going to be happy no matter what,” the actress quipped.
She added, “There is a lot of pressure on that final episode,” as quoted by cosmopolitan.
Grey’s Anatomy was renewed for two consecutive seasons 16 and 17 on May 10, 2019. So there’s enough backing to the fact that Grey’s Anatomy will be returning for a Season 17. However, it will be marking the beginning of an end.
Grey’s Anatomy ran its first episode as early as 2005 and since then has given its audiences a fantastic 353 episodes in the span of 15 years.

About the show
The fictional series’ primarily focuses on the lives of surgical interns, doctors and residents as they transform into seasoned doctors. Apart from this, the story delves into their personal lives and their romantic encounters. The series is set in the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital but principally shot in Los Angeles. The hospital was later renamed as Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

The show revolves around Meredith Grey (the show’s protagonist) who initially embarks her journey as an intern. Meredith is the daughter of an esteemed general surgeon Ellis Grey. Following her acceptance into the residency program, Meredith works alongside fellow physicians Alex Karev, George O’Malley, Christina Yang and Izzie Stevens. Each character are seen struggling to strike a correct chord between their personal lives and their exhausting schedules.

The show mainly consists of nine star-billed actors – Sandra Miju, Isaiah Washington, T R Knight, James Pickens Jr, Justin Chambers, Katherine Heigl, Chandra Danette, Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo. In addition, Jake Borelli, Chris Carmack and Greg German will be seen in the final season of Grey’s Anatomy.
However, the bad news is that Justin Chambers announced he will not be returning for the last season. But the good news is that Jesse Williams as Jackson Avery guaranteed its fans in an interview to Entertainment Weekly that he will be ‘hanging around for a while’.
