What has happened in Endeavour Season 7 so far?
Before we jump on to Endeavour season 8, let’s discuss what happened in Season 7 of the show. The series centers on Shaun Evans who plays Detective Sergeant Morse.
Season 7 picked up after the dramatic finale of Season 6 which witnessed Chief Superintendent Bright (portrayed by Anton Lesser), undertake the command of Castle Gate after DCI Ronnie Box (played by Simon Harrison) was hurried to the hospital, and DS Alan Jago was shot dead.
After the squad uncovers a body on the canal towpath, Morse and team observe themselves challenged to detect the culprit with only one eyewitness, who recorded whistling on the night of the murder.

About the show
Primarily set in Oxford, Endeavour is a prequel series to a previously long-running show called Inspector Morse. The British detective drama television series portrays the young Endeavour Morse at the start of his career after he has quit Lonsdale College of Oxford University in his third year.
After spending a short time with the Royal Corps of Signals as a cipher clerk, Morse joins the Carshall-Newton Police.
He gradually scales up the ladder of success and is promoted to Detective Sergeant with the Oxford City Police CID. Season 5 is set in 1968 followed by Season 6 in 1969. Hence, Endeavour season 7 and 8 will be set in the year 1970 and 1971, respectively.
