‘Generation’ Season 2 release date
‘Generation’ is an aptly named television series that follows a group of high school students from Orange County, California. They set out to explore their sexualities as normal teenagers. But due to their conservative community, they face numerous challenges. However, as a result of their struggles, they learn a lot about their worlds, love, life, and the nature of family. There were 16 episodes in the series. The series, which featured mostly new cast members as teenagers, received extremely high ratings and went on to become a critically acclaimed series.
‘Generation’ not renewed for the second season yet
As die-hard fans of the series awaited the series’ official revival, they were met with bad news. HBO announced in September 2021 that ‘Generation’ had gotten cancelled and that there would be no second season. The decision got criticised by the show’s devoted fan base. The series was supposed to carry the story forward from the first season.
Several unresolved issues were left unresolved, and they will never get resolved. However, the series’ co-creator Zelda Barnz was gracious enough to provide fans with some basic details about where the story would have gone in the second season.
The most burning cliffhanger was about Chester, who got heartbroken and met someone on the rooftop and was pleasantly surprised. The episode ended right there without showing us who he/she was. Barnz said it could have been J, who knew very well how to cheer Chester up. Barnz also sent a message to the LGBT+ community in the essay written for EW and said that people struggling with loneliness should not let go of hope.
