Netflix has renewed Money Heist for season 5 and confirmed that this will be the final one. We are itching to know which characters make it across the finishing line.
Ever since Netflix released the Spanish heist crime drama Money Heist back in 2017, it created a buzz around the world. Since then, the streaming giant has released four seasons. With season 4 having seen the most bloodshed, it is also the most popular season of all, with 65 million streams within the first month of its release.

The season ended with two major cliffhangers: Lisbon joining the heist as she was dropped from the helicopter on the roof of Bank of Spain, and Alicia tracking the Professor and pointing the gun towards his head. Will he survive? If he dies, who takes the lead? Fans can’t wait to get their questions answered. However, that seems like a distant future now.
The Professor in a precarious position
While season 4 left fans in the excruciating cliffhanger, almost everyone is predicting this is how the Professor will die. This theory stems from the fact that Álvaro Morte AKA the Professor stated that he implied that his old lonely life before Lisbon is his character’s true destiny.
However, some fans also believe that there is still hope for him to survive since Alicia is heavily pregnant, she might prioritize the future of her unborn baby over a lifetime in prison.
The Daily Express reported that some fans think it’s unlikely that Professor will want to cooperate, seeing Alicia’s horrible behaviour towards the gang. He might wait for her to give birth. The Professor might have a sinister twist planned for the expectant mum.

A fan named Little Lady posted an interesting theory on Twitter about Alicia is Tatiana.

She wrote, “Inspector Alicia is Tatiana (Berlin’s wife) & her aggression was probably because she blamed the professor for Berlin’s death in season 2 and might end up being part of the heist. Thinking about this already excites me for S5.”
This theory also might be a good one because we first meet Tatiana during a lunch meeting between Berlin, Palmero, and the Professor. She would’ve been a perfect addition to the team if only she wasn’t angry over her lover Berlin’s death. Just think about it. Wouldn’t be an interesting plot twist if police had a master thief among them trying to help beat some other thieves?
Nairobi joins Oslo, Moscow, and Berlin on the other side
Many Money Heist fans think Nairobi’s red dress scene where she is shown lying on the grass in a red silk dress with a daisy in her mouth is a foreshadowing of what’s to come.
After she dies from a gunshot, she is shown in between the fellow robbers Moscow, Berlin, and Oslo, who’d died in the previous seasons, and Professor, Denver, and Helsinki, who are still alive. Fans theorize that in the coming season the latter three will join Nairobi on the other side and the gang once again will be united.
What does Alex Pina think season 5 will be about?
Netflix announced the arrival of season 5 by posting a picture of a dusty Salvador Dalí mask that is broken in half with the caption saying, “Do you have your mask ready? You’re going to need it one last time #MoneyHeist Season 5, confirmed.”
Deadline reported that, while talking about the show, Pina revealed, “We’ve spent almost one year thinking how to bring back the Professor, how to end the band, and how to create situations that are irreversible for many characters. And the result is the fifth part of La Casa de Papel [Money Heist].
While the war reaches the most extreme and savage level in this season, it is also going to be the most epic and exciting season of all.”
Since the streaming giant has not yet confirmed the release date of season 5, all fans are waiting eagerly.
