‘Fear the Walking Dead’: The zombie apocalypse saga continues…
The first three seasons of the show are a prequel to ‘The Walking Dead’ and focus on a blended family that experiences the incipience of the zombie apocalypse. The subsequent seasons of ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ run concurrently with its predecessor.
Initially set in Los Angeles, and later in Mexico, the series follows a dysfunctional, blended family composed of a high school counsellor Madison Clark (Kim Dickens), her fiancé Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis), who is a high school teacher, her fiery daughter Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), her son Nick (Frank Dillane), who is a recovering addict, and Travis’s rebellious son from his previous marriage, Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie). At the onset of the zombie apocalypse, the family is joined by many others in a bid to survive as civilization around them collapses. They start learning new skills and developing a new mindset to overcome the dire circumstances they find themselves in. Season 4 onward, the focus shifts to ‘The Walking Dead’ character Morgan Jones (Lennie James).
Just like its prequel, ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ caught the viewers’ fancy right off the bat. The show proved to be a success for its network AMC. Its talented cast, make-up, and visual effects, as well as cinematography, earned it praises from experts worldwide.
‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Season 6: The past is dead!
Right before the production of season 6 was halted due to COVID-19, showrunner Chambliss revealed that the script has been completed and finalized. The new season follows Morgan, who is left to die by Virginia (Colby Minifie). It shows members of Morgan’s group separated by Virginia and her pioneers now living in different places. Season 6 is the first one in an anthology format. The mid-season finale saw Ed presumably die, Alison getting to know that Morgan attacked the convoy, Strand refusing to leave with Morgan, and Virginia leading Strand to a pregnant Grace and telling him that she wants him to get back everybody she took from Humbug’s Gulch.
Part B: Release date and what is to come?
Season 6 Part B is all set to release on April 11, 2021. The delightful news has raised the excitement through the roof for fans who cannot wait to see what will happen to their favourite characters.
AMC has revealed, “The second half of Season 6 reveals the impact of what living under Virginia’s control has done to each person in this group, who once saw themselves as a family. New alliances will be formed, relationships will be destroyed, and loyalties forever changed. When everyone is forced to take sides. They discover the meaning of ‘The End Is the Beginning’ — the unsettling message that, as you’ll recall, has been spray-painted everywhere throughout the season”.
The season is the darkest one yet and has some major revelations, along with time jumps that are sure to keep the viewers at the edge of their seats.
