Stranger Things is arguably Netflix’s most popular show. You cannot go on social media without coming across some trivia, memes or theories being discussed and shared.
The fans of the show are spread to a wide range and age of the audience thanks to it’s hard-core 80’s nostalgia and if one thing was clear from the very starting, it was that Stranger Things is going to be here for a long time.

With three seasons already underway and a fourth one on it’s way…What should we expect from Season 5 of the series?

Should We Expect A Stranger Things Season 5?
The Duffer Brother and Netflix together hit the jackpot with a combination of 80’s nostalgia and Sci-fi with the hit series Stranger Things. The past seasons have seen some crazy horrifying plot twists and ends which has left the fans with very little imagination as to what will happen next.
In a way the show not coming back for a Season 5 would make sense. In the last few seasons we have seen the Russian government getting involved, mind flayer attacking Hawkins in the flesh and a prominent member of the Hawkins clan (spoiler alert) apparently die (Hopper). This all seems a bit permanent to come back from. If not all, then Hopper’s death definitely does.
But with a confirmed Season 4 already underway which has only been postponed due to the recent outbreak of the Corona Virus maybe the Duffer Brother will find a way, a plot to keep the series alive for more seasons and let the fans dwell themselves a bit further in the nostalgia of high-waisted jeans and old school diners.

Matt Duffer in an interview with Vulture cited that they couldn’t possibly justify something bad happening to the Hawkins clan every year.
But what if the bad thing happening to them in Season 5 is actually a few years down the line?
Just like we saw Avengers: Endgame take a leap of five years from where Avengers: Infinity War ended, fans are guessing if The Duffer Brothers will choose this route as well.
We saw our favorite superheroes of the MCU finally losing to a super villain who was too strong to be defeated in Avengers: Infinity War. Fast-Forward five years later, Iron Man is married living in a cabin in the woods, Hulk can’t be Hulk anymore and there is a time machine to be invented. Thor is unrecognizable and Black Widow is just not in the mood to play superhero anymore.
It gave fans a premise for the characters state of mind and for the Russo Brothers to go ahead with the time machine plot line which would eventually end up with the Marvel superheroes saving the entire planet.
If the Duffer Brothers were to choose this way it would only make sense as the cast is getting older and some of them are becoming bigger and bigger names as they do so. Not only this, the whole kids saving the world from the enemies narrative will pretty much cease to exist as they won’t be kids anymore and you can really only stretch something to a point.
We could imagine Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Will and the rest of the Hawkins Gang all grown up safely tucked away from danger only to have the upside-down come for a long-due visit, can’t we?
Moreover, just like the gap between the first two seasons, it will give us a chance to prepare ourselves saying goodbye to Hawkins forever.
But what do you think? Should there be a Season 5? And will the Marvel route work for the Duff Brothers as well? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
