Disney reviving ‘Hannah Montana’ without Miley Cyrus
Time is ripe for a ‘Hannah Montana’ reboot. It is now confirmed that the ‘Hannah Montana’ story is not over. There’s more to come into her world. Miley’s father Billy Ray shared the news with “Hollywood Life”.
He said, “They’re talking about doing a prequel, which to me, I would do that in a heartbeat. Because that means I get to get my mullet back”.
Billy himself gained mega fame with 1992 hit “Achy Breaky Heart” and duet with Lil Nas X on 2019’s “Old Town Road (Remix)”. He revealed that this time, Disney will explore how Miley became ‘Hannah Montana’. As such fans are super excited about the news of ‘Hannah Montana’ on Disney. However, they still have to wait and see if the ‘Hannah Montana’ reboot will happen in 2020.
The series follows the world of Miley Stewart played by Miley Cyrus who lives a double life. She seems like a normal teen but she isn’t. Miss Stewart is also the famous pop-singer ‘Hannah Montana’ along with her friend Lilly, who also has a double life as Lola.
Miley’s secret is only known to her dad and manager Robbie Ray Stewart, her weird brother Jackson Stewart, and her two best friends Lilly Truscott and Oliver Oken. On the one hand, Miley goes through average teen issues like pimples, bullies, and, on the other hand, basks in super-stardom.
The series consisted of four seasons and two movies. But Billie Ray Cyrus feels that the ‘Hannah Montana’ universe has more stories to be told. ‘Hannah Montana’ songs also paved the initial path for singer Miley Cyrus, introducing her singing talent to the world. The upcoming prequel series will tell how ‘Hannah Montana’ was born out of a simple girl Miley.

He also revealed that he wasn’t eager to play on-screen dad for Miley in the original ‘Hannah Montana’. He thought that he is a non-actor who will ruin the show.
He told “Hollywood Life”: “They had cast me as her dad, and I said, they should get a real actor. I don’t want to miss that show-up. They should get a real actor to play her dad because this is a great script and a great concept”.
When it comes to the prequel, he is very keen on doing it. But it is Miley, who is not eager to live the life of ‘Hannah Montana’ again, as keen?
Miley told “People” back in 2018, “[I] probably [wouldn’t do a Hannah Montana reboot]. It’s a lot of time to be spent with my dad. You know, my dad was my dad on the show. I have enough dad time”.
She said that her teen years were ruined because she could never escape her father like other kids.
“That was really hard every day from, like, [ages] 11 to 18. I didn’t get a school escape like most people. I went to work with my dad. And then I started driving my dad toward the end when I could start driving”.
