Who murdered Will on ‘Dare Me’?
The ending clearly signifies that there’s a storm coming! The last time when we saw the series, Hanlon (played by Herizen Guardiola) visited the deceased’s apartment after receiving a panicked phone call from Colette (played by Willa Fitzgerald). From everything that happened in that scene, one thing was clear- the cheer coach wasn’t telling the truth.

Will had sent her a barrage of concerning texts, she told Hanlon. The texts from Will suggested that he couldn’t live without her and had no reason to keep going. We thought, over the entire series, that Will was struggling to accept that their affair was over. But the viewers didn’t actually see those messages referenced by Colette. She told Hanlon that she was fed up with the incessant messages and eventually decided to go and see him. But when Collete arrived, Will was already dead.
Is Colette the real criminal?
Anyone could have believed Colette’s story if her belongings weren’t scattered everywhere. There was a comb that certainly belonged to Colette. She had brushed her long, blonde hair, and a half-smoked cigarette and a pair of knickers were also present. Everything was stuffed into a plastic bag and given to Hanlon to dispose of.
The biggest shock of the series came in the finale aptly titled “Shock & Awe”, where it was revealed that Matt (played by Rob Heaps), Colette’s husband, was also involved. Hanlon, frustrated by the secrets her coach was hiding, turned up at the coach’s house demanding a conversation. She wanted answers for her pressing questions. One of the questions was – where was her Hamsa bracelet?
The bracelet was given to Hanlon by Beth, but Hanlon later gave it to Colette as she was attracted to her coach. The police found the accessory at the crime scene, according to Beth. She is determined to bring Colette down, one way or another, as she has snatched her best friend. We will later see Colette tearing through her jewellery box, trying to find it. Matt and Colette then search for the bracelet, but it’s nowhere to be seen. Hanlon is in an exceptionally precarious situation because her mum Faith, a police officer, also knows that her daughter lied about losing her cheerleading shoes. Moreover, the same shoes that stepped in a pool of Will’s blood, would have left an imprint on the carpet.
The CCTV at his apartment might have captured Colette and Hanlon leaving in the dead of night, but also anyone else in the vicinity if it was working. It is plausible that Matt killed Will, perhaps in a rage after finding out about the affair. It might be for Colette, who asked him to murder her former lover after Will refused to leave her alone.
‘Dare Me’ Season 2: Cancelled or renewed?
There are a number of bare threads hanging around, but the sad news is that The USA Network has cancelled the series. The decision has come owning to the fact that the network is concentrating more on reality TV rather than scripted dramas.
Cast updates for ‘Dare Me’ Season 2
If season two does get picked up somewhere else, we’d expect Hanlon (played by Herizen Guardiola), Beth (played by Marlo Kelly), Colette (played by Willa Fitzgerald), to return for sure. Along with them, Colette’s husband Matt (played by Rob Heaps), Beth’s much-maligned half-sister Tacy (played by Alison Thornton), Riri (Taveeta Szymanowicz), and the rest of the cheer squad, will also return to ‘Dare Me’ Season 2.
For this to happen, the series should be picked by another network or streaming platform like Netflix. Do you want the show to return? Let us know in the comments below.
