Fans are desperately hoping for some good news regarding ‘Outer Banks’ Season 2, and Chase Stokes is not making the wait any more comfortable. The lead star recently revealed some insights into what the fans could expect from the second season.
The lack of confirmation by Netflix, for a second season of ‘Outer Banks’, is not being handled well by the fans. The series, which is part teen romance and part treasure hunt, premiered in April 2020 and gained a lot of attention.

For anyone who watched it, the first season ended with a pretty major cliffhanger. Fans are confident that the hit show will return for a second season, but there might be something they don’t see coming.
Rumours of Courteney Cox joining ‘Outer Banks’ Season 2 have been doing the rounds. But as who? And is there any truth to this news?
Let’s find out!
John B needs a mother in Season 2
Well, luck hasn’t favoured John B much. In Season 1 of the show, John B loses his father, discovers a murder conspiracy theory about his treasure-seeking father, gets framed for murder himself, and escapes to the Bahamas on a boat with his girlfriend, Sarah.
When the 16-year old John B finds himself living alone after his father’s death, the authorities want to place him in a new home. Although the series started with him and his friend JJ spending the majority of their time fishing, his fate takes a turn for the worst when he’s framed for murder.
So, even if Sarah and John B end up finding the gold that Ward Cameron has hidden in the Bahamas, there is no guarantee that trouble doesn’t await him back home.
With no one in the world to save him, what is the future looking like for him?
Courteney Cox in ‘Outer Banks’ Season 2
Chase Stokes, who plays the lead character John B on the show, revealed that Courteney Cox is the right choice for the role of his mother. Fans are wondering if this is a window to guess what the next season holds for John B.
With his father gone, even if John B and Sarah end up discovering the gold, chances are that they will find themselves in a lot of trouble once they return, as both of them are minors. He still has a wrongful murder charge for the death of the sheriff waiting back at home. The first season was hefty on John B. There wasn’t a moment he wasn’t running, literally or mentally.
It’d be nice for him to get a breather, relax, and just be a kid again. Maybe he and JJ unite for some fishing trips again now that he has a mother to look after him.
But while Courteney Cox’s entry in the series remains an unconfirmed mystery, who else is returning?
The who and when of ‘Outer Banks’ Season 2
The second season won’t likely be returning before April 2021 and, that too, it is us hoping for a quick miracle. And even though no official confirmation has made it’s way to us, co-creator Josh Pate is confident that the show will carry on for at least four seasons.
The on-screen and off-screen couple, Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline will be returning to the series as John B and Sarah Cameron. And fan-favorite Pope (Jonathan Daviss) and JJ (Ruby Pankow) are also set to reprise their roles in the second season.
But, perhaps, the character whose return is most anticipated is Ward Cameron, the villain of the series, determined to make everyone’s life a living hell.
Will Ward Cameron finally pay his dues? Will John B and Sarah make it to the Bahamas? Is Courteney Cox going to be playing John B’s mother? What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below!
