Will season 4 be the last we see of ‘Stranger Things’? Which major style trends will this new season bring back from the 80s? Here’s everything we know about the upcoming season.
Ever since ‘Stranger Things’ released in 2016 and unleashed its magic on fans, one thing it has been influencing quite a lot is hair and beard style. After luscious and thick slicked-back hair and full facial scruff in season 1, French-cut beard in season 2, and full monopoly man-esque moustache in season 3, former Hawkins Chief of Police, Jim Hopper (David Harbour) is returning with a bald look in season 4.

Evolution of hairstyle trend in ‘Stranger Things’
Jim’s bald hair in the season 4 trailer instantly left fans reminiscent of Eleven’s buzzcut from the first season. While most actresses are not brave enough and opt for wigs, Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown, wanted to do justice to the character and actually shaved her hair.
As the 50 seconds long trailer of season 4 shows, once again we will get to see Jim back in action with suitable hairstyle– bald head with light facial scruff as a prisoner.
Jim is alive!
As the trailer of ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 suggests, fans’ favourite Jim is still alive and healthy. But quite in trouble. The 50-sec teaser showed a snowy and gloomy Russia, where prisoners are forced to brave the bitter cold while being overseen by gun-wielding authorities. As the tense music picks up, the camera approaches one man, in particular, building a train track, who reveals himself to be a bald Jim.
The season 3 finale saw Billy die, supposedly killed by the explosion of the machine that the Russians were using to reopen the gate to the Upside Down. It left fans hanging about the fate of Jim Hopper. So, though Jim being back in season 4 brings fans some relief, it also leaves everyone with a major cliffhanger.
‘Stranger Things’ Season 4: Plot
Netflix released the teaser in February announcing that the shooting for season 4 has begun. The Duffer Brothers hinted on the season 4 plot. As reported on “ign.com”, Mike and Ross Duffer said,
“We’re excited to officially confirm that the production on ‘Stranger Things 4’ is now underway and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper! Although, it’s not all sunny for our ‘American’. While he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, back in the States, a new horror is beginning to surface – something that has long been buried, something that connects everything… Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet”.
When will ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 air?
Although the Covid-19 pandemic breakout delayed the production by some months, according to “Hollywood Reporter”, ‘Stranger Things’ will resume their production tentatively on September 17, 2020. The filming will resume in Georgia, Atlanta as the state’s governor released the health and safety protocols for film and TV productions last month. Keeping that tally in mind, it is safe to say that ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 will be hitting our screens mid-2021.
As for the number of episodes, season 4 is likely to have 9 episodes. It makes sense if we judge by the pattern of season one and three having eight episodes, and season two and upcoming fourth with nine episodes. We can only confirm it once the season goes on-air.
