- Buzz in the air on season 10
A year-long wait
Though the release date has not been officially confirmed, the show is expected to come somewhere at the beginning of 2022. Given the current situation of the global pandemic and halted filming and production, the wait is obvious and heartbreaking.

The midwives with bundles of joy will hit your screens not before you are totally gasping for it.
A peek into the season 9 finale
The last episode of season 9 drops some threatening and heart-wrenching news on the Nonnatus House as well as on the fans. The health council warns the house to cut the funding to a drastic half the amount and increasing the rent to a sky-high number.
I guess the council just loves to mess up with our favorite nuns and nurses. The finale also hints towards the N. House going down; Sister Julienne or MJ as we better know her, and Trixie manage to grab some help from Violet to make a plea for their case in front of the board.
To the house’s and fans’ relief, the board considers their petition and grants a year’s time till the funding may get cut again and the rent be increased. However, the question still remains of the house demolishing a year later.

Buzz in the air on season 10
Going forward, the Executive Producer of the show Dame Pippa Harris took to her Facebook handle to assure the fans of an upcoming season 10 and that they are more concerned about the health and safety of the crew in these super-sensitive times.
The post also threw a hint of festivity being planned in the show which we are expecting to come by the time its Christmas! (courtesy the delay in filming and production). It concluded on a note of reassurance for the viewers and fans to get back into her working shoes ASAP with Nonnatus House, Nuns, and Nurses, and bundles of joy being delivered everywhere in the world!
The viewers also expected some exotic location to be seen in the Christmas special episode but to everyone’s disappointment this season, Call the Midwife will be filmed in the show’s very own suburbs of Poplar says the writer of the show, Heidi Thomas.
After the Christmas of the year 2017, this will be the next to be celebrated in Poplar with top-notch Christmassy vibes in the air and on your screens! There will be Tinsel, Tress, and an overwhelming Christmas dinner at the Nonnatus House, says Thomas. While everyone wanted to hear some more, the rest is to be witnessed on the show in the Christmas special episode.
