Season 6 will be marking the end of the series and that has left fans with a bittersweet feeling, but a recent interview with Giancarlo Esposito has hinted at the possibility of another spin-off.
Better Call Saul : Welcome to the world of Saul Goodman
Better Call Saul follows a con man and later a lawyer Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) as he becomes a big-time criminal called Saul Goodman. With his future wife, Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn), a corporate lawyer, constantly supporting him, Saul involves himself in the underbelly of crime increasingly and becomes a highly sought-after drug trafficker.
The character was initially introduced during the second season of Breaking Bad and served to provide some comic relief to the otherwise heavy script. However, Goodman’s popularity with the fans due to Odenkirk’s memorable performance left the creators with no choice but to give him a show of his own.
The series is today telecasted in several countries around the world and has delivered 5 exceptionally scripted seasons. It was announced that season 6 will be the final season for Better Call Saul.
Better Call Saul season 6 : What will happen?
Season 5 of the series has given us two major storylines – the row against Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton) as well as the face-off between Kim and Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian), and. The last scene sees Lalo desiring vengeance when he loses his mother in an attack by Gus Fring. Season 6 will reveal the fate of both the characters.

Nacho Varga’s (Michael Mando) life also dangles in the balance as he gets himself in serious trouble at the end of the last season. But since Nacho is a someone who is seen in Breaking Bad we do know that he won’t die at the end of Better Call Saul.
Kim will have an integral role in season 6 in taking down Howard Hamlin. Fans are honestly quite worried about Kim’s fate considering that she was never seen in the show’s sequel, Breaking Bad. But one thing that is guaranteed as of now is that the upcoming season will be high on drama and action with an explosive finale that everyone is waiting to see.
Although, now that the series is ending, fans wonder whether they would get a second spin-off in the franchise and after a recent interview of actor Giancarlo Esposito, we think he just might be onto something!
Is a spin-off in the making?
Actor Giancarlo Esposito, who recently played drug lord Gustavo Fring has revealed his idea for a new spin-off of Better Call Saul focusing on his character. He said,
“I have this whole storyline in the back of my head that he came from political royalty. I feel like Gus came from the world of order. And that his order came. He was a military man. Out of the military, he gained the ability to observe. You can’t lead unless you can follow… In my brain, he was high up in a military government. He could have stayed there and ran the country. It was handed to him. But he chose a different path to be his own man and to find his own power, regardless of what he was handed. This is what he chose.”
This seems like a brilliant idea because neither Breaking Bad nor Better Call Saul have yet explored Gus’ journey to becoming one of the biggest meth suppliers. It is safe to say that Esposito isn’t the only one who is hoping to see more of Gus.
