TBS ‘American Dad’ recently aired its sixteenth season and seventeenth episode on TV. In the episode, Stan Smith is targeted and shot by a group of disguised men.
Stan Smith is on his way back home when armed assailants attack him in the parking lot. Unwavered by the masked men, Stan fights them back. A couple of shots are fired in the air when one unintentionally hits Stan in the stomach. Petrified of police action, the armed men quickly vacate the spot leaving Stan to die alone in the bitter cold.
Next is a jump shot where the Smith family receives the casket with his body. The Smith’s grieve over his body and is in complete denial of Stan’s death. However, cut to two or three episodes set in the future, Stan Smith re-surfaces alive.
Plot Twist: Stan’s not dead
The real plot twist comes when Stan, in a conversation with an old friend, reveals that he had pulled off the entire drama of being dead to go undercover for a highly sensitive and critical mission involving terrorists. Stan turns emotional while narrating his plight to his friend as he misses his family.
However, his family is still unaware of the news that Stan is alive and is part of an undercover mission. And that all of this was nothing but a plot to make it look as real as possible so that he could protect his family.

We are aware that Stan is known to be a family guy. Weeping through his tears, Stan chokes and his voice cracks as he accepts that he is extremely guilty of making his family go through a tormenting ordeal.
The sixteenth season of ‘American Dad’ has garnered more views than all the seasons gone by, previously. The upcoming ‘American Dad’ episodes will be set on a climax where the Smiths will come to know that Stan is alive and on a classified mission.
