Chrismukkah, eight days of presents followed by one day of many presents on ‘The O.C.’
The iconic teen drama show, ‘The O.C.‘ introduced us to the idea of a holiday that is half Hanukkah and half Christmas through Seth Cohen. Though the show did honour almost every holiday, leaving Halloween. Throughout the series, around fourteen episodes were devoted to holidays, out of which four were on Chrismukkah. Season 1: ‘The Best Chrismukkah Ever’
‘The Best Chrismukkah ever’ is the thirteenth episode of the first season of teen drama television series, ‘The O.C.’. The episode originally aired on 3rd December 2003. For the first time through this episode, Ryan and ‘The O.C.’ fans are introduced to the concept of Chrismukkah. Seth, who is half Jewish and half Protestant invents a holiday where he can enjoy both Christmas and Hanukkah.
During this episode, Seth is also forced to choose between Anna and Summer. Anna gifts Seth a handmade comic book. While Summer dresses as a Wonder Woman for him. Unfortunately, Seth chooses no one. The episode ended with the Cohens and Ryan watching movies together on Christmas.
Around five hundred IMDb users rated ‘The Best Chrismukkah ever’ episode. Hence, giving it an average score of 8.7 stars out of 10.

Season 4: ‘The Chrismukk-huh?’
The Chrismukk-huh? episode of ‘The O.C.’ officially aired on 14th December 2006. The final season 4 episode gave everyone the perfect ‘It’s a Wonderful Life‘ feel. While hanging up lights, both Ryan and Taylor fall off of a ladder fighting. Lying unconscious in a hospital, both of them enter an alternate universe in which they imagine a life in which Ryan would not have entered. Kirsten and Sandy are married to Jimmy and Julie, Seth is a geek in the not so good way, Kirsten and Jimmy are together, Summer is married to Chris Pratt.
One of the most heartbreaking moments of the episode was when Ryan chose to stay in the alternate world to be with Marissa. Sadly, Marissa still died in the alternate universe as well. Ryan gets a letter from Marissa that provides him much needed closure to move on with Taylor.
‘TheChrismukk-huh?’ received the same ratings from viewers that ‘The Best Chrismukkah Ever’ received, 8.7 stars out of 10.

Season 2: ‘The Chrismukkah That Almost Wasn’t’
‘The Chrismukkah That Almost Wasn’t‘ is one of the dramatic episodes of ‘The O.C.’ till date. The episode originally aired on 16th December 2004. The episode mostly revolved around a new character, Lindsay. It is revealed that Lindsay, who is Ryan’s love interest, is the illegitimate child of Caleb. Despite the drama, each of its characters goes out of their way to save Chrismukkah. Ryan tries calming Kristen down. Seth finds Lindsay who ran off and gifted her his yarmaclaus. Summer and Marissa set up the Christmas lights and a tree to surprise Lindsay and her mom. In the end, Seth sings and rekindles the Chrismukkah spirit.

Season 3: ‘The Chrismukkah Bar Mitz-vahkkah’
‘The Chrismukkah Bar Mitz-vahkkah’ episode of ‘The O.C.’ aired on 15th December 2005. In the episode, Johnny met with an accident in which he bruised his knee. To help raise money for Johnny’s surgery, the gang decided to throw Ryan an honorary Bar Mitzvah. It also somehow involved Johnny with a busted knee almost robbing a convenience store, but thankfully Ryan saved the day. It also involved Ryan realizing that Johnny and his ex, Marissa liked each other. Even though this episode of ‘The O.C.’ is one of the least Chrismukkah episodes out of the rest, it did show the gang going on a Christmas tree hunt.
‘The O.C.’s’ season 3 Chrismukkah episode takes the last place on IMDb. Two hundred and ninety-six people rated the episode and gave it 7.7 stars out of 10.
