As much as we love Brooklyn Nine-Nine there is a barrage of disappointments that led us to believe that if the producers tweaked the storyline by a wee bit consideration, the show would have nailed the top spot in Television comedy!
The string of disappointments lay at Brooklyn Nine-Nine from Captain Holt’s sexuality to the unforeseen departure of Gina Linetti from the show. We just pray the producers to hear us and look into fixing some of the greatest disappointment we as audiences have faced in Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
The comedy-cum-cop drama aired on Fox till the fifth season when it suddenly cancelled the show’s future seasons for whatever reason. Much luck for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, NBC stepped in at the eleventh hour and renewed three of its season from being axed. Season 1 to 5 of the Emmy winning cop drama show is available on Netflix.
- Find out why Captain Holt is a disappointment of Brooklyn Nine-Nine
- A ‘Frienemy’ who is Jake Peralta’s personal disappointment!
- The Vulture is everyone’s disappointment at Brooklyn Nine-Nine precinct.
- Where is the back story of Jake and Gina?
However, season 6 is also out but it may take another month for it to come to Netflix. The good news is that season 7 will air on NBC in February 2020. Meanwhile, season 8 is in production. Despite all the stardom of the show, here are the things that disappointed viewers.
All The Times Brooklyn Nine-Nine Left Us Disappointed
We’ve listed out the top 8 disappointments of Brooklyn Nine-Nine voted by the audiences. Let’s have a look.
Captain Raymond Holt
As much as it works in favour of the audiences knowing that Captain Holt is gay, it also works against them. Knowing the very charming and oh-so-dashing Ray Holt is gay has broken a million hearts starting with mine first.
However, not to downplay the Show’s efforts to bring in all the inclusiveness surrounding homosexuality, we best bet that the character revelation could be better saved for another player like Boyle or Hitchcock, just saying. Nevertheless, it doesn’t change our outlook and we will still continue to hit on Captain Holt for his tall, dark and handsome appeal.
Six seasons down and Doug Judy is still running lose
Remember the Pontiac Bandit that made its first appearance to the show in its twelfth episode. Yeah, the same guy who is a hip-hop lover and always runs away from being arrested right under the nose of Jake Peralta?
Now let’s imagine for once, the same Jake who has arrested and chased after hardcore criminals from the underworld to treacherous serial killers is unable to catch hold of a notorious car thief Doug Judy?
Is it his brother-like bond with Judy that has blossomed between the two during the chase up and down the town that keeps him away from being arrested or is Jake seriously incompetent? Honestly, six seasons down the line and we are still looking for an answer to this.
Rosa and Boyle
So every time we speak of talk of the most likely pairs of the Precinct 99, Rosa and Boyle are our first contenders to the spot. Rosa is a badass woman and Charles Boyle is her exact opposite—soft, emotional and caring. But that’s what strikes the perfect chord between the two poles apart yet a very likely couple.
The disappointment hit its peak in season 4 when Rosa revealed she is dating a girl. But don’t worry guys, she is only a bisexual exploring other aspects of her sexuality. Nevertheless, Rosa also breaks up with her girlfriend as she didn’t feel loved and this might spark love between Boyle and Rosa in season 7. However, the only complaint here is why weren’t they given their chance at trying out their love in the previous seasons so far?
Jake Amy and ..Holt’s honeymoon
From the starting of the season when Jake and Amy wouldn’t even talk straight face until now, everybody has pitched for their love story and it did happen! And when it came to their chance at the honeymoon, they are third-wheeled by Captain Holt. Imagine, what a wreck of a plan? Just when the audiences have a little hope to have a glimpse of Jake and Amy’s cozy moments, Holt steps in to wash our plans. What a bummer!
Gina and Jake are childhood friends with no traces
Gina and Jake, the both, invariably keep claiming how they have each other’s back and that their friendship dates to much longer than into the Precinct. Yes, Jake and Gina are childhood buddies. But the writers of the show have till now not explored that aspect into their friendship. We wonder why. Well, as much as we think why, we cannot hold our horses to knowing how young Gina and young Jake became friends, must be a heck of a story.
Vulture – the guy who scoops in at the perfect time for all the wrong reasons
Remember the bad guy Vulture who scoops into Amy and Jake’s case to take over their most awaited case at the wrong time. So when the credit is handed over, it is Vulture who gets all the share of his praises.
Well, it is disappointing to see out favourite pair of detectives work day and night only to see that their name is dropped down from the line of credits and instead Vulture’s name is inserted. Bleh.
Gina Linetti’s exit from the show
The coolness quotient of Brooklyn Nine-Nine picked pace from Gina’s cruel jokes and bitchy behavior. She was the only non-cop in the NYPD that knew how to gather laughs when the show went dull.
Gina is one of the characters with the highest recalls and her exit from the show will definitely make us sad knowing that there is no other person that can absolutely fit into her shoes and fill her space. This is one of the biggest disappointments of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Hitchcock and Scully Comic Appearances
Hitchcock and Scully play lame games in the Precinct and are shown as the lousy characters of the precinct that would care for their food first even if the building caught fire. However, the aged and burned-out cops now only look over the paperwork but most of the time are seen just chilling in the office.
But it is disappointing to see that these two characters have not been used to their full potential and lack comic appearances than anticipated by the audiences. The two make for a great pair for comic timings and comic spaces and we hope to see more of Hitchcock and Scully in the episodes to come.
