The 3rd Season of ‘13 Reasons Why’ will not have Hannah Baker, the former leading lady of the previous 2 seasons.
Netflix has dropped the final trailer of 13 Reasons Why Season 3. The trailer gives us plenty of reasons to suspect Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) might be the one who killed Bryce Walker.
The end of last Season showed Tyler brought an assault rifle to the Spring Fling after being sexually assaulted by Montgomery & Co. Clay was able to prevent, even if it meant he’d be holding the gun when police arrived.
The new trailer shows that now Bryce is dead and Clay saying, “This whole f**king world is better without him in it.” Presumably, the “him” in question is Bryce Walker, and the implication, of course, is that Clay was the one who killed him.
A new cast member called Ani (Grace Saif) asks Clay, “What did you do?”. Earlier on, Clay’s mother, Lainie Jensen (Amy Hargreaves) also tells him: “The police think that you did [it]!”, making Clay seem even more suspicious.
At least Bryce’s death offers a new way forward for the show before its fourth and final season, which Netflix announced earlier this month. The full third season drops on Netflix on August 23.
It’s probably a smart move for 13 Reasons to focus on a new propulsive mystery beyond Hannah’s suicide, and not only because of the endless controversy surrounding its graphic depiction.
