Yes, you read that right! Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool are coming to MCU via Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
There’s a lot of madness going around in the superhero world especially in the MCU. While on one hand DC has a vast history of film making and representing various iterations of fan-favourite characters from Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman all have alternate versions ready to appear in their Multiverse. On the other hand, Marvel President Kevin Feige solves the problem creatively by hiring hi-profile actors to play the alternate roles of our favourite characters in the Multiverse of Madness. With the recent acquisition of Fox Marvel characters, he has now a wide range of characters to canonize.
One character, however, cannot be replaced and that’s Wolverine, Hugh Jackman has played the character for 17 years and is IRREPLACEABLE! After much speculations, scoopers finally have clues that point at the arrival of Hugh Jackman in MCU Multiverse as Wolverine and how far can Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool be?
The News
As per the industry insider Daniel Richtman, Hugh Jackman has been officially made an offer to join the MCU. The industry insider revealed official documents on his Patreon about an offer made to Hugh Jackman from the Marvel Studio on 10 October 2020 (screengrab in the video below).
It’s a well-known fact that Kevin Feige worked on the initial X-Men movies as an Assistant Director. Just like any other fan, he is fond of Jackman as Wolverine and now that he orchestrates the MCU he certainly ants him back. On the other hand, Jackman bid farewell to the character with 2017’s Logan. He even went on record to say he’s done with the character and if it were a couple of years back he’d be still interested in joining the Avengers. Nonetheless, it looks like Marvel Studios is doing everything to get Hugh Jackman back one last time as the Wolverine for fan service.
Richtman’s reporting is still open to interpretations. While it’s certain that an offer has been made it could very well be for another character from the alternate dimension. Given Doctor Strange sequel will open up Multiverse, coupled with comic book history, the possibilities are endless for Jackman to appear in a meaty role as well as a cameo.

Ryan Reynolds’ MCU Deal
Another property that Marvel Studios is highly interested in to add in the MCU is Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. The highly (maybe only) profitable mutant Fox franchise has to integrate into MCU sooner or later. The R rated nature of the Deadpool movies sure creates some concerns. But if Deadpool comes in via the Multiverse and with his ability to break the fourth wall the explanation is going to be hilarious.

While, currently Google and IMDB list Reynolds in the cast of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, it isn’t set in stone. Nonetheless, there are strong rumours of Marvel wanting Ryan Reynolds in a contract bigger than Robert Downey Jr. That means not only the top billing but more than 9 appearances in the MCU. Whilst a Deadpool trilogy is on the cards given the usual studio trend Reynolds will have major cameos like how RDJ appeared in Spiderman: Homecoming.
Marvel has a good window to introduce Deadpool in the MCU while giving a nod to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine via the Multiverse. Otherwise, imagine, Deadpool starring along with some new actor and constantly trolling them for not being Hugh Jackman!
