WandaVision Is Set To Resurrect Scarlett Johanson’s Black Widow
As the entertainment industry gradually gathers momentum after the pandemic, adjusting to the new sanctions has forced several movie studios to reshuffle their movie release dates more than once, at the very least. Marvel Studios has particularly had to do a major reshuffling, especially because of how important it is for their movies to maintain continuity. Productions like Black Widow, Falcon and The Winter Soldier and WandaVision were initially supposed to hit the cinemas in May, August and December 2020 respectively with Black Widow leading the slate. Now it seems a little reshuffling has been done affecting timelines.
Now WandaVision will kick start MCU Phase 4 before the end of the year, which would be followed by Falcon And The Winter Soldier (FTWS) in early 2021 and will lead us to Black Widow movie in May 2021. While we know FTWS will share connections with Black Widow additionally now we understand there is a possible play to bring back one or two characters that have died in the normal MCU timeline. Wanda’s ability to manipulate reality could be all that is needed to disrupt the balance of time in the multiverse.
The appearance of Vision in the WandaVision trailer shows that Scarlet Witch has somehow found a way to not just bring him back to life, but to procreate as well.
Wanda Resurrecting The Dead Avengers
While we already know that Doctor Strange’s Multiverse of Madness is going to serve as an entry point to introduce other Marvel heroes and bring the plot together, it is unclear how much of a role the WandaVision series would have in the course of events.
As series production resumed for reshoots, photos were taken of a blonde lady arriving for set photography of the WandVision series. Although the lady had a facemask on, she bore a very kin resemblance to Black Widow’s Scarlet Johannson and sparked online rave about the dead avenger making a return in WandaVision (a possible cameo). It is very possible for Natasha Romanoff to be brought back. However temporary it seems highly unlikely considering there has hardly been a conversation between the two ladies during all their time as Avengers.
There has also been strong speculation that the blonde lady is Kathryn Han who is supposedly set to play Agartha Harkness – Wanda’s mentor. In the comics, Agartha is supposedly a very old witch who teaches Wanda how to control her powers and has the ability to manipulate reality too. Her appearance in the WandaVision trailer gave weight to the speculation that Kathryn Han was the one pictured, and not Scarlet Johannson.

Wanda’s Chaos Magic At Play
Nonetheless, in the WandaVision trailer released by Marvel Studios, Wanda is seen using her powers to manipulate objects, while she and Vision leap through different timelines. With a lot of cosmic ability happening in the MCU’s fourth phase, it opens the door for different heroes – dead or alive – to have cameos at different points.
The Loki series revealed that Loki also messes with the timeline bad enough to draw the attention of the Time Variance Authority, and since Doctor Strange monitors the timeline, there could be a huge flurry of trips through time spread across the movies in phase 4. Rumours about a possible cameo from Loki in Wandavision has been doing the rounds based on her chaos magic and Multiverse connection. However, no reports have confirmed it so far.
Wanda’s brother Pietro Maximoff is also on the list of dead Avengers who could possibly reappear on the WandaVision series, even though it might not be for more than a cameo role. Cameo appearances are also expected from Doctor Strange and Scott Lang. And that’s not it Evan Peter’s who played Quicksilver in Fox franchise too is cast in an undisclosed role.
WandaVision will premiere in December on the streaming service Disney+ while Falcon & The Winter Soldier will follow early in 2021. FTWS was initially slated to be released after Black Widow, but with the reshuffling, it will now come before Black Widow which premieres in May 2021.
