There are many moments in WandaVision that make it so appealing to us. Here are 6 such awesome moments from Marvel’s first ‘sitcom’.
We won’t be highballing when we say that MCU WandaVision has etched itself in our minds forever. The series that kick-started MCU Phase 4, WandaVision presently ranks among the top 10 shows worldwide. And rightfully so. Here are 6 of the coolest WandaVision moments that we absolutely loved.
Watch: Wanda Overpowers Thanos | AVENGERS 4 ENDGAME (2019)
Episode 1- Yakety Yak by Vision
A very sweet WandaVision moment arrives when Mrs. Hart is about to go to the kitchen to help Wanda, Vision starts singing a song to grab her attention. And the song is Yakety Yak by The Coasters. The Coasters are an American band (specializing in rhythm and blues/ rock and roll) that had a string of hits in the 1950s; the same era in which the episode is set. Their other very famous songs include “Young Blood”, “Searchin”, “poison Ivy” and Charlie Brown”. “Yakety yak” acquired the No. 1 spot in the Billboard Hot 100 in 1958 and is, perhaps, one of the greatest hits of all times. And Vision singing it does establish the world of a 50s sitcom in the perfect manner, just like any other sitcom of that time.
Episode 2- Wanda Says No
At the end of the 2nd episode of WandaVision, when the SWORD agent comes out of the man-hole in his hazmat suit, Wanda says “No”, and turns back time a few minutes. For fans of Marvel comics, this is truly a “kick-ass” moment. In Marvel’s Comics House of M storyline, there comes a time when Wanda Maximoff wiped out 98% of the world’s mutants. And the words she says moments before doing it are, “No more mutants.” This is what sent waves of excitement among the fans. They are connecting both these dialogues as WandaVision and House of M share, sort of, the same storyline. This includes alternate realities, jump in Wanda’s powers, and mutants. The House of M is one of the greatest events in Marvel comics. And by borrowing what seems to be a hint in the series, the MCU opened up a lot of interpretations and possibilities for the future. Kick-ass WandaVision moment!
Episode 3- The Young Avengers Arrive
At the end of the 3rd episode of WandaVision, Wanda gives birth to twins. Marvel has become an expert at not revealing anything ahead of its releases and gives the fans the perfect surprises. And this was going to be a big one. With the birth of these two twins, MCU laid the blueprint for the arrival of the Young Avengers. One of the best WandaVision moments for any Marvel fans. Wiccan and Speed are born. Kathryn Newton will be Cassie Lang for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) will inherit Hawkeye’s mantle. Xochitl Gomez will play America Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Dominique Thorne will be Riri Williams as Ironheart.
Episode 4- Wanda Reveals Herself
At the very end of the 4th episode, when Wanda realizes that Geraldine (AKA Monica Rambeau played by Teyonah Parris) is “trespassing” in her house (and her reality), she is enraged. All this while, we had seen a Wanda who is sweet and innocent. But at this moment, we see that Wanda whom we saw in Age of Ultron and Infinity War where she almost killed Thanos. That rage and anger are clearly visible and we love it. At this point, we also realize for the first time that all that is happening is in Wanda’s control. And understand how powerful she truly is. WandaVision moment alert!
Episode 5- Pietro Arrives
It is again at the very end of the 5th episode that our 5th kick-ass WandaVision moment arrives. Vision charges Wanda for the way she is manipulating everyone around and tells her that it is wrong. And just this moment there is a knock on their door. On opening it, Wanda finds her brother Pietro and is completely taken by surprise. And so are we. Why? Because it is Evan Peter’s Quicksilver. We last saw him in the X-Men movies. And this establishes that the MCU is all set to bring in the mutants. Of course, we had it coming after Fox and Marvel cracked a deal. But not this soon, right? Or, is it Pietro, really? Or, is it someone else in the form of Pietro? Mephisto?
Episode 6- The Anomaly Spreads Wider
In the final moments of the 6th episode, when Billy tells Wanda that “Dad” is in danger, Wanda does something that certainly proves that she is one of the most powerful superheroes in the MCU. She does not go to help her husband which will take time. Instead, she extends her force field even wider and devours everything inside. As simple as it sounds, we see in awe as reality changes itself. Agents turn into clowns, high-tech vehicles turn into cake-vans, and more. Hayward wanted to kill Wanda but now we see him trying to escape for life. This WandaVision moment does bring out the “abominable” in us as we smirk because we like it a lot. Kick-ass, Wanda.
Episode 7 – Monica Rambeau becomes Photon
While we are yet to hear it someone say but at the end of Episode 7 Monica Rambeau gets her Photon powers. It was foreshadowed previously that Monica has gone through the hex twice that is mutating her. While trying a third time she actually gets her powers and has a mini display in front of Wanda.
