Vulture’s presence in the recent Morbius trailer confirms that the Sinister Six is happening in the Sony Marvel Universe
Fans are too excited to see Vulture in the recently launched Morbius trailer by Sony’s Marvel Universe. Last time we saw Adrian Toomes (Vulture) was in Spiderman: Homecoming mid-credit scene in prison, surprisingly not disclosing Spiderman’s true identity to Scorpio.
Sony-Marvel picked him up where he left off in his prison jumpsuit presumably this time breaking out of it. In the trailer, we see Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes remark to Jared Leto’s Michael Morbius, “Got tired of doing the whole good guy thing, huh? What’s up, Doc?”
It’s where the trailer ends and our imaginations begin.
For the uninitiated, Morbius and Venom are part of Sony’s Marvel Universe which is taking shape post the Spiderman 3 deal with Marvel Studios. Sony holds the right for Spiderman and its corresponding characters and we all know the Marvel-Sony deal has its ups and downs.

Sinister Six is long speculated by Spiderman fans and Sony had tried and failed in one of its attempts to do fan service during Toby McGuire days. But a report suggests that Sony hasn’t given up stating, “We hear that as Sony progresses their own Marvel universe with titles likes Venom 2 and Sinister Six, and Disney/Marvel their own, there could be a “call and answer” between the two franchises as they acknowledge details between the two in what is would loosely be described as a shared detailed universe. Details on that are still early.”
Now both the giants are trying to slowly mix the universes to create continuity for the fans. With the central idea being that Tom Holland’s Spiderman will wrap up his MCU stint post Spiderman 3 and will be the central character for Sony’s Marvel Universe.
In the Morbius trailer, we see a graffiti of Spiderman with an overlay of word, ‘Murderer’ in line with the end credit scene of Spiderman: Far from Home, where he was dubbed one by J Jonah Jameson. But eagle-eyed fans have noticed that the Spiderman graffiti is actually the Toby McGuire’s version NOT Tom Holland’s.

The original Sinister Six team was formed by Doctor Octopus, who was joined by Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, Sandman, and Vulture. Electro being amiss from the movie universe Tom Hardy’s Venom can fill in the empty spot in the movie-verse. Fans have seen most of these characters on screen in various movies with Marvel dropping some hints about Kraven’s presence.
In the nutshell, the presence of Vulture proves that Morbius is set in the MCU world further confirmed by Spiderman graffiti. So it’s just a matter of time when the Sony-Marvel heads decide to play the Sinister Six card.
