The unsung heroes of Avengers are no heroes at all. They are the people who made tiny differences. These are the unsung heroes of Avengers Endgame. This includes a rat, some goon from GOTG and a scientist working with Howard Stark.
The reason the Avengers, (Iron Man) were able to defeat Thanos was that these guys made it possible. Being at the right place at the right time, these unsung heroes made the Avengers Endgame possible. Though many of them are long dead and forgotten; they live on in our hearts.
Starting the list off and just talking about these Unsung Avenger Endgame heroes doesn’t sound like enough but let’s get on:
Unsung Hero #1 Dr. Abraham Erskine:
Dr. Abraham Erskine is the scientist who made the super serum. He’s the reason Captain America exists at all, the first and truly, the only super-soldier. We see Captain America fight off Thanos, saving the stones and leaving them back where they belong at the end of Avengers Endgame. Captain America plays a major role in defeating Ultron as well.
If one thinks rationally, it makes complete sense that Captain America needed to be on earth to make a stand during the events of the Infinity War. That’s because Captain America is the leader of the Avengers. Dr. Abraham Erskine turns the man into who he is meant to be. He is fatally wounded soon after in an attack by the genocidal group, Hydra.
Most of the MCU would not exist if not for Dr Abraham Erskine.
Many come after who try to recreate the Super Serum. We see Banner’s experiment turning him into a giant green monster, The Hulk. The more important thing is that Dr Abraham Erskine’s serum has never been perfect again. Only Hydra gets the wanted result which therefore gives Steve’s friend Bucky Barnes his own superhero abilities.
#2 The Rat that saved the world:
Remember the rat you see in Avengers Endgame who saves Antman’s ass? The rat who accidentally brings Antman back from the Quantum Realm is the reason Avengers Endgame went down. This is an iconic moment in MCU.
Antman comes back and gives the idea of Time Travel to what’s left of the Avengers, leading to extensive experiments. He gives the Pym Particle to the Avengers in Endgame. However, without the cute little rat flipping the switch accidentally, Endgame doesn’t occur at all.
Director Russo himself agrees that this rodent is the reason behind Avengers’ win. In the 14 Million Realities that Doctor Strange sees, it’s the one in which the rodent frees Antman from Quantum Realm that leads to the win.
Who knew a rat would be the biggest Unsung Hero of Avengers Endgame?
Unsung Hero #3 Ho Yinsen
This character is the man behind Iron man himself; the mentor, guru and creator who gives his life to bring Iron Man online.
Yinsen and Tony create the majestic first-gen Iron Man armour instead of weapons they are asked for; this is a pivotal point for MCU.
Ho Yinsen, in essence, helps create Iron Man and his armour suit. In Iron Man, Ho hails from a remote village in Afghanistan and his job is to make weapons for the terrorist group. Ho is, therefore, the reason we have Iron man is because of this Unsung Hero taking a bunch of bullets. This is how Ho Yinsen paves the way for the future of MCU in a selfless way.
Unsung #4 Dr. Erik Selvig the Avenger
The scientist who creates the portal bringing Thor to Earth after he is banished from Asgard, this man is integral to the entire storyline.
While this Unsung hero is forgotten by Avengers Endgame, he plays a pivotal role in the storyline. He’s a thermo-nuclear scientist who leads to the opening of the portal of Chitauri under Loki’s influence. Therefore being mentally compromised in later movies. But when the trickster god is not in control of him, he goes on to point out how to close it as well.
The scientist has a few traumatic episodes yet goes on to help the god of Thunder, Thor, in defeating the antagonist of Thor The Dark World, Malekith. He’s a truly Unsung hero and makes an easter egg appearance in Avengers Endgame. However, he is one of the people lost to Thanos’ snap.
#4 is Agent Coulson, double dead Unsung Avenger
Agent Coulson died in the first Avengers itself and he is technically dead on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D too. Without him, the MCU’s Earth would be a smashed egg by now, as a fan points out.
