Sony released the debut trailer for A beautiful day in the neighbourhood. The Mister Roger movie stars Tom Hanks in the lead role alongside Mathew Rhys.
The movie takes inspiration from the real-life friendship between Fred Rogers (Hanks) and Tom Junod (Mathew Rhys). Tom is a cynical journalist assigned to interview and profile Rogers, a long-time running TV host.
“This piece will be for an issue about heroes,” Junod tells Rogers in the new clip. “Do you consider yourself a hero?”
He says, “We are trying to give the world positive ways of dealing with their feelings.”
“There are many things you can do,” Rogers suggests. “You can play all the lowest keys on the piano at the same time.”
A beautiful day in the neighbourhood is set to highlight the importance of being kind to everyone.
“Sometimes we have to ask for help and that’s okay,” Rogers infers in the trailer. “I think the best thing we can do is to let people know that each one of them is precious.”
A beautiful day in the neighbourhood is co-written by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster. Susan Kelechi Watson and Chris Cooper will also star in the movie. A beautiful day in the neighbourhood is set to release on November 22.
